I'd imagine it's because "just" grand reserve is a relatively low bar given the available multipliers. I wonder how many points it takes to start reliably getting anything at all.

Yes, it's a fantastic pour and unlike anything else I've had. With that said, the flavors were so potent they almost didn't seem real. I've talked to a few other guys that had it and we all thought something along the lines of "that was so good but feels synthetic." I don't know how else to describe it. That's not really a knock because I loved it, but it was different.

I'm not saying it's synthetic, I actually don't know much about it. I'm just saying it was so flavorful it didn't seem real. Like I don't know how that came from barrel. It was really good though.

I didn't mean it in any sort of derogatory sense, just found it interesting you had that thought.

That was the same ting Fred Minnick (and some others) said about the double oak release. It is why he didn't put it on his list for last year.

Whether it is true or not i have no clue.
