Is there an "eBay" equivalent for Bourbon so I can check to see live secondary prices?

Bottle Blue book (https://bottlebluebook.com) used to be pretty reliable. I haven't checked it in a while, so I can't tell you if that is still the case

If you were going to spend $200-300 on a bottle of bourbon for a gift, what would you buy?

What does the person receiving the gift like? Are you willing to shop secondary or only retail?

I think it depends on if you are buying off the shelf (which is hard to find a top shelf bourbon at retail today) or secondary.
Also, depends on of the person knows their bourbon or not.

If secondary and they don't have a great grasp on the market, then something like Blanton's SFTB is a good buy. It still impresses people that don't know bourbon and is a good drink.

If Secondary and they know bourbon then something like EHT Barrel Proof, Stagg SP, Russell's Reserve 13, etc.

Barrel Craft Spirits Gold Label. Unless you want to try the secondary market or stumble upon a highly marked up bottle of BT on the shelves.

Off shelf or secondary is fine. Whatever $200-300 gets. He's starting his bourbon collection. I know he has a Blantons (not Gold) , EHT (not sure which one) W12, and Stagg Jr

There isn't a lot on the shelf that's worth that price range. Some specs still have WTMK available, which could be a good one.

Otherwise, some of the suggestions above could be solid options. Not sure on your location but if you're around cstat and need help finding something retail or secondary, I'm happy to help out

I like the 2xO Gem of Kentucky bottles. Spec might still have some in the case.

Russel's 13, eht barrel proof, Weller full proof, new little book infinity release would be cool because it has nice presentation

Agree with this. I would also broaden their horizon beyond buffalo trace.

If i were the one buying i think i would try to find an interesting store pick or even a common pick like a Russell's Reserve or Woodford Double Oak pick would fit the bill. A 4R SBBP would be a killer bottle to give as well.

Appreciate the suggestions and offer to help in cstat. We're heading there Saturday for the game. But no need to run around for me. I pop in to random liquor stores and Specs multiple times a week in all around Houston.

Anyone have any experience with Laws bourbon?

I was at a conference last year in CO and they feature laws. I was drinking their base stuff I'd assume. It was solid, that's about all I can remember. Not sure on the cost. I would drink it again.

Ton of it around here and the bottles look great. May pick one up soon.
