Thanks Ducks, it's been a great Private Select barrel pick. I have 7-8 different recipe versions now to compare and mine is still the favorite among neighbors and club buddies, so your feedback is appreciated and respected. .I think there's only a case or two left. I'll check the bunker.

I made the mistake of ordering shots of OF Birthday Bourbon and EH Taylor Four Grain and am now obsessed with finding one of these bottles. Ignorance was bliss....

Good stuff. Enjoy the "lower" proof.

Had a great weekend in Nashville. Toured the following distilleries...

Dickel
Jack Daniel's
MB Roland
Dueling Grounds
Corsair
Nelson's Green Brier (Belle Meade)

Bringing some batch 1 home from Dueling Grounds that is a 2 year straight wheated bourbon. Fantastic stuff. Also got some MBR Rye. Also very good.

Hope you were able to get some of that sweet Belle Meade Single Barrel Cask Strength they had in the gift shop. The particular barrel was a high award winner.

How was Dickel? Any interesting special offerings in the gift shop? Haven't toured the place in 20 years, but wanting to go back ...

I picked up a bottle of the new old forester rye the other day for $23. 100 proof, 65% rye, 20% barley, 15% corn. I enjoyed it quite a bit, especially at the price. Nice change of pace from most of the rye in that price range that is varying degrees of watered down Indiana rye. Not that I don't enjoy some of those also, but this was different and I liked it

Dickel has a great tour. Nothing special in the gift shop though.

Which were your favorite for tours and bourbon? Wife and I are going next week and want to do a couple tours.

I can't speak to all of those, but I love the Greenbrier Distilery tour. Easy to get to, great value, well organized I thought too. And you get to sample some good stuff.

The Jack Daniels Angels Share tour was the best hands down. Next would be Dickel, then Greenbriar. MB Roland is worth a visit. Unlimited tastings, tour is cool, and the drive is thru some beautiful country. They make you feel like family.

Red Dog Liquor in Franklin, TN has a Russell's Reserve store pick in stock.

If you like hazy IPA beers, check out Bearded Iris Brewing in Nashville. Neat place.

Thanks for the feedback. Wife already wants to do BM tour so looks like I can put MB and Greenbrier together. Probably will do Jack Daniels if I can convince the wife to drive an hour over there. Don't normally drink Jack but was reading on the Angels share tour and it sounds good.

Made the mistake of getting my first son (7/18/16) a bottle of blantons SFTB with his date on it a couple years ago. Wife said I had to do the same for son #2, 9/19/17 (first time my wife has asked me to buy bourbon so not arguing!) so I just dropped $135+15+5 on FB secondary for Blanton's with a green label. Don't even know what the heck it is but now I can stop worrying about finding a bottle, but I hate spending that much on bourbon that I may or may not get to try! And I can only imagine how badly I got screwed on secondary.
