It's just funny because right now I could walk into almost any liquor store and find a couple of different Booker's releases for ~$50. Now with this news people will go in and clear the shelves at $50, then we will only be left with $100 options. It's a perpetuating cycle of "scarcity".

Until the fad dies down and stores are stuck with shelves full of $100+ bottles that nobody wants to buy.

I've stashed some EC12, and just picked up a few OGD 114's to keep in my stash, just because they're cheap and I like them, but I'm pretty much out of the "premium" bourbon market these days, it's just not worth it to me anymore when things like Woodford Reserve, Four Roses Small Batch/Single Barrel, and Larceny are perfectly fine pours and can be purchased whenever I want for $35 or less.

You're exactly right but unfortunately I'll probably be one of those guys stock piling as well. It's one of the best 50 dollar bottles out there but I don't make a habit of spending 100 dollars a bottle for anything.

What's it going to take to get one of those WLW from you?

I knew you were a good dude. Booker's is my favorite "nonpopular" pour. But $100 a bottle?!? I don't think I can justify that in my mind. Then again I walked away from a W12 a few weeks ago because it was $39.99 and have regretted it since. Not because I am a huge fan of the pour. But in my disgust I forgot about gettin it for someone who wouldn't mind paying that. There are probably some bourbon degenerates on this thread that would've taken it off my hands for that. I also figured BT would be putting more out relatively soon. Looks like I guessed wrong.

Anyone tried VSOF 12? Very Special Old Fitzgerald. Have a bottle of that but haven't opened it to try it.

Oh and just to be clear about a previous post, I will be drinking the WLW '16. I can come by 600 bucks easier than I can come by this bottle!

I won a bottle of Old Scout Rye 9 year limited release. I also found a bottle of 2016 FR Small Batch LE for $110 on the way to the lottery. It was a pretty good day!

I would trade all of it for just one William Larue Weller though.

Lemme know what you think of the 2016 FRLE. Especially if you can compare it to prior years. Even though it doesn't get the run like 2015 or 2013, I actually really like the 2014. And most reviews draw comparisons of the 2016 to 2014.

Man I wish I had a WLW to trade you! Stagg is probably my favorite, love those FRSmB LE's, and the last barrel proof old scout rye I had was freakin phenomenal.

I preferred the 16 to the 14 but my 14 sample had been opened for a while when I got it so not sure how that might have affected it. I could see some similarities to the two though.

So I did some rearranging of my cabinet tonight and this isn't much to most of y'all, but I'm at an all time high of bottles with 17. I have Bulleit and Buffalo trace as my cheap dailys, Old Grandad 114, another Old Grandad 114 that spent 3 months in my barrel, - Bernheim that spent 6 months in a barrel, Hirsch, Eagle Rare, Wild Turkey Forgiven, Blantons, Noah's Mill, Russell's Reserve 10 year Single Barrell, Rebel Yell 10 year, Pikesville Rye, Whistle Pig, Jeffersons Aged at Sea, Makers Cask Strength, and Stagg Jr. I don't spend money on many things, I'm not a frivolous spender, but damn do I love buying new bottles of bourbon.

So a bar here is selling 20 & 23 yr pours for 40 & 50 respectively, is this in line with what bars typically charge?
