I saw Blanton's on the shelf in Co for $500.
You think that's indicative of actual cost?

That bottle and the Larceny BP behind it are both pretty solid. I'm really happy with the recent Larceny BP I found in Kentucky.

Good to hear. I'm getting both. C922

Calm down. Someone will always buy secondary at mom and pop stores.

The secondary bourbon market and the retail prices have been rising and will continue to rise. That's a fact.
Picked these up this evening.txag2k said:
HOWDY! LOVE this thread. Only been really enjoying Bourbon the past few years, but it's for sure now in the daily driver category![]()
Last Christmas my son gave me a bottle of Blanton's (he got for MSRP) and I loved it. A few pours left in it but pretty much done. I went out looking for some earlier this year and was sticker shocked at the grey market prices. I know there are +$200 bottles of Bourbon that are worth it but I'd never pay over MSRP (give or take 20-30ish bucks) for Blanton's. It's really good but I don't feel it's $200/bottle good.
So yesterday my GF presented me with a a bottle of Blanton's for my birthday (MSRP was a few weeks ago but just got in) and my son coming down for Christmas break said he got me a Blanton's for Christmas, also MSRP. So I'm as happy as if I had good sense.
But it did have me wondering though, what are some bottles of Bourbon that y'all would instantly buy if on the shelf @ $200+ a bottle? Also, what are some SOLID $30-70/bottle Bourbons that I should be hunting down as they are not allotted, etc. but are very underrated?
For me, it's not a Bourban but an Irish Whiskey - Midleton VR (any year), but it's also hard for me to find but is my absolute favorite spirit. Don't get me wrong, I only break out the Midleton for special occasions and is FAR from something I have often but I'd buy it @ $225 anytime.
Thanks in advance! Looking forward to keeping up with this thread moving forward and again... LOVE everyone's contributions here!! Great sub.

Is that 11 years on the knob?
I'll check back in when I crack it open next week! Hoping I like a lot but if not, didn't break the bank for $60.MediAg13 said:
I thought I picked up a store pick of that KC to try and realized later it was the KC9 small batch not the 120… hoping I like it better than the KC12…

I think the KC12 is nails.
I have some older KC14&15year single barrels. I generally love the 10-12yr age statements. I'll have to keep my eyes open for KC products.

For me it was very alcohol forward and has weird notes of like pine or mint or something that's offensive to my pallet. I joke with my wife that it tastes like I'm drinking a pinecone.
