Have yet to see the private barrel with 10yr age statement, but the standard barrel proof (always single barrel) which they do 3 releases a year is probably my favorite "can sometimes find it and secondary prices aren't absurd" bottle

I'll be happy with a $65+ bottle every once in a while and just stick to WT101, rare breed, and Evan Williams white label. You guys have fun!

I don't think that's the case anymore. Maybe 2019. I think the shops are all in on it now too. I walked into a podunk liquor store that had BT behind the counter with much better stuff on the shelf. The taters have worn out google maps. The $1000-1500 BTAC bottles are getting dusty behind the glass. Demand is equalizing and supplies are going up.

I don't think you understand that barrel proof and full proof are two different things.

Barrel Proof is from the barrel to the bottle.

Full Proof is making the bourbon the same proof as the distillate entered the barrel.

Has nothing to do with how high or low the proof is.

I definitely don't have the desire to hunt, and there's way too many taters in Dallas to deal with. That said, Total Wine at Park and Central had 1792 full proof store pick and Yamazaki 12 on the shelf today so I gladly grabbed one of each.

Taters have found their way tequila too. I haven't been able to find a bottle of Fortaleza in a really long time.
