I would prefer Four Roses over Woodford, but I'm not picky for this.

I'm in this poke dunk little town near Cedar Creek Lake and go into a liquor store. Not the worst selection and go to check out with a Russels SB. I ask about if they have anything in the back and they bring out a Weller 12. I haven't seen it in a few years. Only $39.

While I have no idea how the logistics of all this work, I'm in a club in San Antonio that recently sourced a barrel from Elijah Craig, which was really good and was only $35 or so per bottle.

Not on a shelf. That is kind of a pipe dream lately. I have been to many stores over the last few months and gone at opening times. Never seen one of these for anything near retail. The only one I saw was $900.

Looks delicious. Recently started making Vieux Carres and they may be my favorite cocktail.

1oz each: rye, cognac, sweet vermouth
.5oz Benedictine
Garnish with lemon twist and a luxardo

I actually use Armagnac (think of it being "rye" to a cognac being "bourbon")

I just bought a bottle of Private Preserve on amazon for $10. You shoot it into wine, vermouth, whatever to keep good forever. It puts dense gas between the alcohol and oxygen to keep it from going bad

Its worth every penny of the $40 price tag but its nothing crazy. Just a solid deal. Palate is good, soft and sweet. The finish is loooong and incredibly dry. Very unusual.

I have a 2014 I have yet to open, how does it compare to the 125th? You are at the level in that bottle that it gets hard for me to grab a pour of it, even though I know it will start to degrade more rapidly with that much oxygen in the bottle.

It's the best bourbon for the money on the market, IMO. Not available in Texas yet, though, unfortunately.

They had a TON of ER and EHT SmB. It was ridiculous. The first X# of people were guaranteed Blanton's. Not sure how many got that guarantee but we were probably 25th or so in line. We got there around 9:30 for a 10:00 opening.
