I see several of you guys have the Midwinter Nights Dram, Elmer T Lee and EHT single barrel. Im looking to get my hands on all three of those. Give me your thoughts on your favorites. Any of these overrated or overpriced in your opinion? Thanks in advance

Of the 3, I personally prefer ETL the most. It's a good bottle at $35-40 IMO. It's a lower proof bourbon that high proofers often describe as bland. But it's balanced, smooth, enjoyable drink to me. I also enjoy the EHT Small Batch more than the SiB, but don't look for any EHT regularly. And I purchased one bottle of MWND a couple years back, but it took me awhile to finish it. I'm not partial to high rye whiskeys and haven't found anything from High West that I really enjoy.

ETL is the star of that group in my opinion. But to be fair, I haven't gotten my hands on a bottle since Mr. Lee passed and stopped selecting the barrels himself. Not sure how it's held up since then quality wise.

MWND is a great one to get your hands on, just because it's got such a unique flavor. Worth a bit of premium if you like very full flavored ryes.

I've never been impressed with the EHT line. They're good for sure, but never jumped out at me as anything special or worth any extra effort or price premium.

I'll take the other side of the EHT vs ETL debate. I like EHT SmB a lot and would drink it a lot more if it wasn't so hard to find. In the handful of times I've had ETL it was good but not memorable. At $35 I'd probably buy one to have around, but it's not something I'd spend a lot of time to find.

I haven't been let down by any of the last 3 releases of MWND. Like someone said earlier, it is a great sipper in the winter time. In my opinion, ETL is a great sub $40 bottle. I wouldn't pay more than $60 for it from a liquor store and I definitely don't recommend you buy it on secondary. With the EHT SiB you can get variations from bottle to bottle. If you want more consistency, you can't go wrong with the EHT Small Batch. Like the ETL, it is a great sub $40 bottle. It is also much easier to find than ETL or EHT Single Barrel.
