Retail ought to be around $80. But you still got a good deal for what it is. If I had a bottle of WLW fall into my lap with a $200 price tag, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

What makes the $199 a good deal is saving the $2K you'd have to spend in the store in order to get the owner's attention as a good/ frequent customer before he ever offered the bottle. I'd subsidize your son in order to keep him employed there, at least in the autumn months!

The Rye? No, haven't had it. $199 smells like the Stoli group is trying to price this into the premium market to up their stock price. For $199 it better taste like sex with a super model.

My thought as well and didn't pull the trigger, but thought it was worth asking. Know some folks who think Kentucky Owl is the best thing on the market right now. I'll wait to hear more about it, but most I've ever spent on a bottle was $125, so to go north of that it's going to have to be can't miss stuff

I walked into a liquor store in Texarkana, AR this afternoon and got excited when I saw an Old Fitz 13 year in the case. Then I saw the price. For $300 they can keep it.

Joking aside. It's usually but not always available here in Austin. Total wine has it allocated now (which is a joke but apparently necessary) and they'll only let you buy 1 or 2 at a time.

I've only been able to find it consistently at the Spec's off of Jones road at 290. Have yet to see it at a Total Wine in Houston
