I picked up two 10yr FR cast strength OESV, that are freaking exceptional today - 51/bucks a pop aint bad

Daily: Evan Williams BIB (Aged 3 months in my mini barrels, best whisky to age IMO)
Favorite Rare - ECBP
Best you have ever had: Either GTS 14 or WLW 16 - both phenomenal

Blantons as a daily is pretty impressive... never seen a bottle in person outside of a bar

1. Don't have a "daily" as I apparently don't drink nearly as much as I should, but for a regular non special event pour - EC12, Four Roses and whatever I have aged (right now it's Larceny)

2. ECBP, Four Roses SB, AE Rye (none are especially hard to find)

3. This is a hard one - HH Select Stock, EC21, Stagg, Pappy

It's always been surprising to me when I hear this.

There's still one for me at my store in Dallas almost every time I go in there, so I have 4 or 5 bunkered. In college I could walk into the college station specs and buy one at any time...

Talked to a local specs guy and he said he never sees a bottle - and when he does it goes to a corporate account or its set aside for a big spender from another specs location. This is the specs in Webster btw - not a small store.

Also, wanna ship me some blantons?

I did. Tried Eagle Rare 17 and Parker's Wheat. Got a deal. 2 oz of each for $35 total. ER17 was underwhelming and I wouldn't buy. Very disappointed in it.

Parker's Wheat was awesome so add that to #3.

What's a good price for Black Maple Hill? Found some at a hole in the wall store near my house where it was $90. I know it's sourced and not very highly regarded, but I'm curious because that was the first time I've ever seen it on the shelf.

No matter MSRP, I wouldn't pay more than $35 for a recent batch BMH, with plum or black label text in a short bottle. It's just not the same stuff as the old batches that created their legend.

If for some reason you've found a slightly older former release tall bottle, those are decent and you'd want it for your shelf. I'd be hard pressed to fork over $90 though.

If it's the tall BMH with the wax top, buy it for $90 and I'll give you double that. If it's the short bottle, leave it on the shelf. Not good.

I don't know if the bottle was tall or short. It was a white label with green ink.

Edit: just Googled it and it was the rye in the short bottle. It was on a shelf behind the counter so I didn't get a good look at it.

Avoid the BMH from Oregon. Short bottles with green or purple labels. You want tall bottles with red or orange labels. Even those aren't that good, but they can be traded for better whiskey.

Well I was finally able to pop my Pappy cherry last night.

Went to Brenners on the Bayou and they had 10 year up through 23 year. Had the 10 and 12 and both were great.
