We typically go to a couple of local brew fests every year up here. Seems like for the last few years they have been getting lamer and lamer with a big shift from beer to seltzer which is the growing segment of the "craft beer" industry. I'm not interested in it. Last summer we only went to one, this year none.

that and rtds have completely taken over it seems. When you walk in to my local, they are dominating the entrances.
Look at someone like Dogfish head, they are in that sector

Truth..... Last year at the CBC in Nashville I went to a session with Sam Calagione and some other speaker from Hawaii. The session was about "the direction of the industry" or something to that effect. Most of the session was talking about "Beyond Beer" which is the new buzzword for seltzers and ready to drink canned cocktails.

Did a mini pub crawl today. Wifey wanted to do some "thrifting" so we drove up to Dover NH about 35 min away. Had lunch at Chapel + Main Brewery. Had a flight of the first four beers on their draft list. #1 was good, #2 was great #s 3 and 4 were just meh. Look at that plate of fish and chips though... it was definitely the star. Left there and walked over to Garrison City Beerworks. I had their Along For the Vibe IPA which was good but their venue smelled like their toilet had overflowed so I chugged and ran. Another short walk brought me to Empty Pint Brewing Company I had their California Dreaming west coast IPA which just ok. I was wanting to take another short walk to The Czar's Brewery because they usually have a Dark Mild on tap which is one of my favorite styles. Wifey met me as I was finishing up at Empty Pint so we left for home. Star of the day beer wise was Lost Coin IPA from Chapel + Main.

Been a busy few weeks going back and forth to the Hill Country taking the kids to Camp OTX. Chilling at Free Roam this fine hot as balls afternoon while the kids get some grandparent time.

I'll preface this with the fact that I moved away 5 years ago so my info is somewhat dated but back then it was Kros strain and Jukes out west in elkhorn.

Was there last month for CWS. Kros Strain made the best local beers I had. Went to Zipline Brewery right outside of the stadium and it was a decent place with decent stuff.

Dinner out at Fogbelt in Healdsburg. Excellent place for beer and food. I've had most of their regular lineup, but I am privy to their flagship IPA, Del Norte. It has a great body to it.

Edit to add: don't mind the banana peel and pirate booty in the back. We had to get our kids going before their pepperoni pizza was brought out!
May be one of our last family meals out before we become a family of 5.

There was a 4 noses rep at the o club on base last Friday doing a keep the glass promotional deal. 4.50 for the pint 6.50 for the larger 20 oz glass/pour. Pretty damn solid considering how much beer has gone up as of late. Along with everything else I suppose

On the other end of the Trillium experience, my wife grabbed a 4 pack of these today. Always happy to get cool east coast beers, but at $37 it seemed a little crazy. I may have put them back.

Pretty tasty though, so I'm not mad. Was worried about the honey, but you really only get it in the aftertaste.

Yea they show up here from time to time, typically sold as singles cause they're so damn expensive. If they're pretty fresh I'll typically grab a couple.

You guys and your Trillium all over the country are ticking me off. I'm an hour north of the brewery and cannot get it. I don't feel like driving into Boston and they don't distribute to NH. I have not seen it in any of the stores I frequent across the border in MA. Anyway…. Drowning my sorrows with MC2 from Equilibrium.

They ship to NH if you order from their website. Currently about a dozen options on there. I did it a few times when I lived in DC and it went smooth.

I just wish Texas would get over their goofy laws about shipping alcohol.

Yes. I knew they shipped. I actually called them a week or so ago, that's how I know that they don't distribute here. We are going back to Tree House on Wednesday to pick up beer. I plan on searching around there for it.

Tree House is infinitely better than Trillium.

I have to agree overall. I have only had 5 or 6 beers from Trillium and it's been about 5 years since my last. They cannot hang with Tree House as far as hazys in my experience. I've probably had 30 different Tree House beers btw. They did have some fantastic wild ales as I remember though. I doubt I would be able to find those anywhere outside of the brewery even if they still make them. That all being said I'm interested in giving their hazys another shot.

I've only had treehouse once (brought to me by a buddy of mine's hometown friend who flies for UPS) when I was living in LA. And just by those two beers I agree, significantly better than any trillium I've ever had.

I agree that Treehouse is better than Trillium, but I don't think it is a huge difference. If Treehouse is in the top tier of hazy breweries, Trillium is easily in the next tier right below them.

I think I've tried around 10 different beers from each brewery.

I've never had Tree House, but two of Trllium's beers are in my top 10 IPAs:

UPPER CASE
Congress Street

I used to think King Sue (Toppling Goliath) was the bomb, but I had a four beer blind tasting with three friends and all of us rated King Sue last. The four beers:

Ripe and Over Ripe (Great Notion Brewing), Technical Skillset (Celestial Beerworks), & King Sue

Looking forward to the stars aligning again and having another blind tasting with:

UPPER CASE, Ripe, Very HHHazyyy or Very GGGreennn

Just got back from Tree House in Tewksbury. I had a Very Pink with my white pizza and a Juice Project: Citra + Mosaic for dessert. Wifey had a Luminosa Squeeze and a Juice Machine. All beers were great as usual. Picked up a few things there as well. Some of these beers will make it back to TX for my Friday beer shares. Ran over to the liquor store next door to Tree House hoping for some Trillium but there was none. They had a fine beer selection otherwise.

If any of y'all are fans of Bottle Logic brewing, some of their beers will hit stores in TX this weekend. The pic is from a store in austin, and some houston stores say they also have it in. Waiting to see if SA gets some.

Back to Outrider Beer Company in Amesbury today. No bike ride involved... cool and drizzly. They put a brat in a bun with sauerkraut and caramelized onions on the menu. I thought their 9% Medium Delight Belgian Dubbel would go well with it. I was not wrong.

Cooled off significantly the past few days so broke this out to finish out the weekend. They're typically higher than a cats ass, although nowhere near as bad as anchorage's stuff, but damn do I love me some of freemont's barrel aged stuff.
