I've been wanting to try these 2 for a while, so finding myself in Yuma for a few days I made it happen.

They had quite a journey but finally got them
home. Shipped to San Diego, muled to me in Yuma, driven to Phoenix, flown to Houston, and finally driven to CS.

Oh wow. I'm on CS too.

Didn't really know where or want to post this anywhere else. So forgive me this post that's very distantly tangentially beer thread related.

Back to the Eagle Scout discussion from last month. The Boy Scouts sent me an email today reminding me that it is the anniversary of me passing my Eagle Scout board of review on 2/21/1994.

Along with being a special event for me, I am reminded that my court of honor was the last time I saw my grandmother before she passed away (Eff cancer).

Cheers to my Mamaw, my fellow Eagle Scouts in this thread (Eagle Scout sons of beer threaders too), and to all of you awesome guys on beer thread.

Well now that I've finished typing this up and adding the pictures it's not 2/21 any more. Lol. Oh well.

Thank you all for this great community we have.

Very nice! I can't remember my board date or court of honor, should look that up.

I wouldn't have remembered my board of review date if it weren't for the email. And as for the court of honor, it was sometime in April.

Taeda is my joint there. I saw they did a one off last weekend and they've had a couple of recent releases. I'm hoping they'll get back to the quality I was accustomed to.

Fass is doing too much awesome stuff for me to make it to B52 much anymore.

We went to B-52 5 or 6 years ago.... all the beers were good. They had some great brett beers and some nice sours, pils and saisons. Went back a year or so later and they must have gotten got a free rail car of lactose. It seemed like it was in almost everything. They still had some good beers but mostly not. I cannot stomach an 8% lactose rasberry sour or an overly lactosed IPA. Never been to Taeda or Fass but will keep them on my radar.

Edit: Love B-52's venue.

Tarpon River "Deflated". It pays homage to Tom Brady's "Deflategate". The story is cool, beer is Aight. I get a kick out of Paul Revere and The Old North Church on the label.

Look I know Texans trash California. But after an intense day of work I go to some random pizza place nearby and uhh, well, they have Pliny on tap and in bottles and damn why can't Texas have Pliny.

The draft was Pliny for President which was probably my favorite for the evening.

People can hate CA for plenty of legitimate reasons, but beer, beaches and weather aren't among them.

Working in California and living in Texas gives me the best of both

Speaking of CA… found out last night one of students will be going to the International fair in LA in May. I'm the designated sponsor so I'll also be going to LA in May. Doubt they'll be much in the way of beer consumption though… I'd like to keep my job.

Ha, I was actually thinking bissel brothers earlier when I bought this (Burlington beer co), still pretty solid though. Took a chance with no timestamp on the bottom of the cans and won on this gamble, I've been burned in the past (looking at you front range)

I think Burlington stamps the label near the bottom left corner. But it's been hard to find/read on the cans we get in College Station.

My "The Substance " does not have a born on date but I know it has some age on it because we picked it up in Maine in September. I have a few more beers from the same era that need drinking.

Any idea who distributes Burlington Beer to College Station?

Edit: Just did some searching and found out it's Flood. Bad news, they go to Tyler but cannot get them to Palestine.

No. But I'm gonna guess Favorite Brands, or maybe Ben E. Keith.

So I think a $25 buy in seems to be a solid option. Will obviously post more details later… but we generally get about 20 signups which is about $500 total. Maybe split $400 for 1st and $100 for 2nd. Shipping will eat into those costs a little bit, but it'll still be a lot of awesome beer. I'm also spending a week in Madison in June… so that will help round out a box.

I owe someone from last season still and haven't had time with 60 hour work weeks and three kids to drop off the beer. It's also 7 months old and a lot are IPAs so I don't think you want them. Can I send you some $ instead?
