Heading up to D.C. next week what are some breweries I should check out in the DMV area that I should check out?

DC Brau, Solace, Aslin, Veil and Commonwealth make my favorite local IPAs. I can't vouch for the experience at the breweries, though.

Bluejacket is a pretty good spot if you are near the ballpark. Good selection of different beer styles and decent food options.

Churchkey and Sovereign are good beer bars. If you want a higher end dinner experience than Churchkey's elevated bar food, eat downstairs at Birch & Barley. You can order any of the beers from upstairs.

Edit - I suppose Commonwealth's brewery isn't really local, as Virginia Beach is 4 hours away. Still good beers and you can find them locally.

I really enjoyed Bluejacket when I was there a few years ago.

I've visited Commonwealth. Very low key, open air with picnic tables. Agree on the IPAs. Very good.

Any of you guys in the Austin area interested a beer fridge or two? I have two of these that are in great shape. They are the "all fridge" models, meaning there is no freezer portion at the top. I'll sell them for $100 each. If you buy one (or both) I'll include the stand I built to stack them as well.

I was recently wondering if people around Texas and this thread were still into that beer, I hadn't seen it in a long time!

I assume it's not posted about as much anymore because it's readily available. Not too long ago you had to get to the store somewhat quickly after it hit shelves.

Still think it's my favorite local IPA. I know Pinthouse makes good **** but prefer a good batch of Yellow Rose.

How do y'all like the IPAs that Live Oak is putting out now?

I check the date on the bottles most times I'm in H-E-B. If the date is within the last month, I usually pick up a 4 pack.

Yellow Rose is great but this is my favorite Lone Pint brew.

Hit up some old west coast haunts yesterday. Got some lunch Plinys at West 4th and Jane. Then hit El Segundo Brewing Company for some Stone Cold Steve Austin Broken Skull IPA and a Power Plant Triple IPA - for my money the most well balanced Triple IPA after PtY.

Then hit the Library Alehouse, but their tap list and vibe isn't what it used to be.
