So think I'm gonna hit up ABW tomorrow for the first time tomorrow night and really looking forward to it. Might have to try and swing by JK for some spon as I still haven't had one of those yet.
Anywhere else around ABW I should check out?

You could get nuts in that area if you want... Adelberts, Oskar Blues, 4th tap (and I think Celis) are all within a mile of ABW. None are worth leaving ABW for, though IMO.

Only in milk stouts, unless otherwise labeled.

Outside of that, lactose sugar has become a popular adjunct to NE IPAs, sours, and just about anything these days people think will give them an interesting sweet, creamy flavor.

Personally, I'm not a fan, but every once in a while a beer with lactose will pleasantly surprise me (most recently, Odd13 "Intergalactic Juice Hunter" 2x NE IPA).

Bottle logic FO and some local stuff. He has nearly 70 positive reviews and he's pretty tight with several folks that I've traded regularly with. That's why I've given him a pass but damn I'd like to be sipping on a fundamental observation Christmas night.

I had one of these last night and I hate to say it, but i was a little disappointed. I love winter beers and Avery comes with such a great reputation. But there just wasn't a lot to this, a pretty simple beer. It was drinkable, but maybe my expectations were too high. Not really memorable

Update: the Juicy Bits hype is reaallll



I am not a huge fan of the pastry stout/sour trend, but these are pretty good.

Double barrel Medianoche drinks really nice for a 15.5%er. NoCo, know what the second barrel is? Bartenders are so busy I don't dare ask.
