Picked up a couple more regular BCBS and a growler of the latest black butte this morning at the local Whole Foods. Missed out on the case of coffee and regal that went to the 30 or so folks that were lined up for the opening. Did goose island hold back some of last years regal to release this year? Thought they didn't have a 2016 regal release.

I drank my st lam; it is one of the best beers I've ever had. I'd go with that one BSD. But I like the more fruity sours.

My plan would be to fly to MSP, grab a Juicy Lucy, and head down (2.5 hours). Then turn around, grab another Juicy Lucy, and head home. Cedar Rapids seems to be about two hours. I'm not sure what airlines fly into there direct though.

Madison, WI is about the same distance from Decorah as Minneapolis. Both about 2.5 hour drive. I checked flight prices yesterday and it's actually cheaper right now to fly United from IAH to Madison than Hobby or Austin to Minneapolis on SW.

I'd fly from Austin to Madison (with a connecting flight). I've also got a friend in Madison to stay with... We are nerds... "Hey, how are planning to get your hypothetical beer guys?"

My cousin is a phd stident at UW in Madison. I have already told him I'm staying at his apartment and borrowing his car.

They're starting to age whiskeys in whisky barrels that aged stouts that originally aged whiskey. Pretty interesting.

It seems like the longer that cycle goes on with individual barrels the more flavor each aging would impart on the whiskey or beer.
