Yup went to la BBQ when I was down there over Christmas thinking I'd get through the line in an hour or less, 2.5 hrs later I was still waiting. Corkscrew in the tine is pretty damn good as well.

Killens is the best food I've ever had in my life. It's incredible. Plus they sell Karbach & St. Arnold's and have a complimentary Lone Star keg while you wait in line for 2 hours.

Franklin or La Barbecue. Skip JMMC. Leann's place is 10x better. I'd rather drive to Taylor for Louie Mueller than give John any more money.

just put down a freigeist abraxxxas pear lichtenhainer. wasn't sure what to expect but it was actually pretty enjoyable. smoke wasn't heavy, and the pear was nice. combine that with a bit of tartness, I'd definitely drink again. might have to grab the apple next.

picked up a new republic astrolabe yesterday as well. this question probably would have been more valuable had I asked before buying, but how is it?

I had a Gentleman's Relish from Lone Pint last night. Really good Brown Ale. Hadn't ever seen it before. Did I read here that they are hearing up for starting to can?

Making my way through the 'fat tire and friends' collaboration 12 pack.
First was rhinegeist's version 'fat pale ale', a Belgian XPA. My least favorite so far. Just didn't come right well in my opinion. Next was Firestone walker's fat hoppy ale, a hopped up version. Pretty good, just like an IPA really, but Amber color, and that oh so distinct fat tire taste. Then Avery's fat wild ale, my favorite so far. fat tire with Brett. A really good tropical sour, would be great if they did this in 6 packs. Next up is allagash's fat funk. Not quite sour, definitely some funk, pretty good, almost resembles a wheat beer that's tingly on the tongue. Last collab is hopworks urban brewery's fat sour apple. More enjoyable than the funk tire, but just kind of tastes like an apple beer with a bit of sourness. Would definitely drink on a hot day though.

Anyway, Avery takes the cake. No doubt Avery knows their sours. Worth the price of admission.

Boxers revenge, one of my top two JK beers of the limited exposure I've had of JK stuff. On another note, apparently paradox finally opened up their divide tasting room this weekend.

BR is one of the few I haven't had. Need to get back up there soon.

So based on facebook, the Gin Nocturn line is already almost 400 people deep and it has been pouring rain all morning. I was thinking about heading out there around noon in case the initial line didn't get all the bottles but that's looking very unlikely. Insane.

I like gin, but the only gin-barrel aged beer I've had was Contemplating Waterloo. To say I didn't care for it would be an understatement.

The question i have is will anyone who actually waits in line at the release drink the beer, or will all of them be trying to turn a profit by selling it on the secondary market? All that time standing in the rain on Memorial Day has to be worth some profit right? Craziness.

Theres a good chance I can be there....workplace is about a mile from the new downtown spot. Although I dont know how excited to be since all of their beers are 'meh' at best.
