I purchased my Utopias via ebay years ago...but I've been told that they were in select stores across the state last year....

How much do those things usually run?

Enjoying a Pipeline Porter (BA's opinion) tonight. Decided to keep the Kona theme going for another bottle.

This is Kona's coffee beer. It is a quite distinctive coffee nose yet the coffee taste on the tongue is a little more subdued. I like subdued coffee in my beer. Bitterness is well in check. Don't expect hop head to go for this one.

I like this one. Maybe it's the coffee beans Kona is using? This is better than the Boulevard offering. Hmm, need a side by side comparison with Real Ale's Coffee Porter.

So far both Kona's have been wins for me. I was sure looking at the 6 pack of Kona Koko at the HEB and noting that it is a seasonal and they only had a a couple cases.

Tonight, while brewing, I had a long strange trippel and a left coast board walk. They did me well.

i'm a big kona pipeline fan. that was one of my first "flavor infused" beers (not sure if adjunct is the right term here so i'll just go with what i said) and i've loved it since

About $150 or so. I got it at Specs last summer when Jim Koch came to town.

Shiner Wild Hare is better than I expected. Good overall balance. I will purchase another 6er in the near future.

Stone Oaked Arrogant ******* is great, but I can't justify the $15/6er cost. Probably wouldn't buy again.

Kronenbourg 1664 tasted exactly as expected...wimpy and European. Worth a shot based on a friend's recommendation.

Brooklyn Lager remains awesome in tall boys too.

Petrol in Houston tapped the Boulevard chocolate ale today for all you chocolate boners

Bunker Hill HEB has the Boulevard Chocolate Ale, too. I picked up a bottle yesterday.

Chocolate Oak Aged Yeti has a level of balls that the Young's doesn't even sniff at. It's HUGE by comparison when it comes to roasty flavor approaching char, hops, smokiness, thick mouth-feel and warmth.

Clutch was damn good.

It helps that I'm jamming it on the back patio while grilling too ... Still have another bomber after this one, may have to head to D&Q in Houston for a few more

Just saw some Lips of Faith - La Folie at the beer store, but didn't want to spend $15 on a beer today.

Just had my last Sam Adams Alpine Spring. Glad that one is gone.

Is alpine spring the same a's Noble Pils last year?

Seems like I heard noble pils was going into full time production and alpine spring was its replacement.

Had a sample of No label's Pale Horse Ale today at whole foods in bellaire....wasn't too bad, but didn't sway me to filling the growler. I was really hoping they'd have some hell fighter on tap, but no dice.

No Label has been severely lackluster everytime i try thier stuff.

Try the doggie claws. I've been wanting to open up mine but haven't had a chance.

i accept the decision.

firt few sips impression ... damn tasty actually, what i was looking for for an evening 'dessert' beer. Very smooth, a little fruity, but not in a bad way. Tastes like cherry/apple with a little caramel taste at the end keeping a lingering cherry aftertatse on the toungue.

A nice hoppy character, more than i was expecting for a BW.
