Both are cool spots. With Covid, you've got to be sat by a host, so it's a bit different. The Pizza at dark sky is great. Dark Sky had really good stuff. Mother Road was solid, but their uniqueness is what impressed me.

Rounded out the trip with a couple of stops in Gilbert.
12 West was pretty solid and had some cools beers.
Beer Research Institute didn't blow me away. They had a killer selection and I liked the styles and some of the tweaks they had on recipes, but they didn't really knock it out of the park on anything.

Initially tried to go to Arizona Wilderness, but there was a wait and we had to get to the airport.

I like beer but really don't enjoy all the mass produced brands. I have found Altstadt Lager to be my favorite everyday beer. Those of you that have tried it what are y'all thoughts. I find all of the big beer companies to be very sweet or have a banana taste to them. I find Alstadt to be clean and not sweet. Those of you that are familiar what other beers would be comparable to Altstadt lager, i've tried other craft lagers but most of them are too heavy on the hops.

Sorry just rambling, and looking for another lager to try.

I think instead of macro vs. micro, you need to hone in on the style you like. The tasting notes you have there are from different styles and aren't indicative of a specific brewery.

Look for Helles and German or Czech Pilsners. A kolsch is kind of a nice intermediary of those two styles - check out Saint Arnold Fancy Lawnmower if you haven't.

This IPA is amazing. Straight shooting great west coast IPA. Bright and crisp!

Taste buds finally coming back online after dealing with Covid, no beer in the past two weeks. Grateful we experienced mild symptoms. Gonna to try the collab ipa between Untitled Art and Parish tonight to celebrate the return of taste.

I'm ~10 days in and am hoping my taste is returning. I taste the first bite or sip but then the flavor disappears. I keep reading all the stories of prolonged smell/taste loss and really hope I don't have longer issues, have a lot of beer in the fridge I still need to get through.
