He may be dead, but you know that old Aggie saying, "There's a spirit. . ."
He was channeling a Californian, but not Hugh. Its a tribute to President Reagan. Well done, but you are going to have to your own plaque I think.

Agreed. Great bold design regardless of any of our personal taste.

My grilled cheese maker came in today. And my Yeti cooler. Gotta shave the counter top just a fraction to get the stove in. Still waiting on the duct cover for the range hood. I ordered it back in December. Made a whole thread to complain about delivery times.

Agreed. Not the decisions I'd make in every instance but it's bold and fun.

We started our reno a year ago yesterday. My wife and I were going through pictures and having PTSD.

Glad to be on this side and hoping you endure. Plumbing fixtures comping in was when it felt like it was about to finally end.

Got a pump house framed up and siding put on. I had enough of the Knotwood siding left over to do 3 sides. Did board and batten on the side that no one can see. I have enough metal roofing left over to do the top, and they'll paint Hardie siding to match the house. This was really an afterthought. As you can see, my concrete slab is not perfect square, and the generator will sit on the extended pad.

The imperfections just add some character

No one who will notice the imperfections will say anything.

If they do, they get to sleep in the pump house.

Just add on to the slab at the front on both sides and it will look fine.

Goal is to move in at end of next week. Plumbers came and got closer to finishing up. Counter top guys came to cut a bigger hole for the kitchen sink and shave the countertop so the stove can fit. The partition doors are up, but the glass dividers have not been put on yet. We ordered brushed gold p-traps for the visible plumbing. Just waiting for them to get here.

Haha. My wife and I were involved with a marriage conference on Friday evening and Saturday morning. Then we took the speaker to dinner on Saturday night. After church this morning, we started moving our stuff in. It's a big mess of boxes and things that need to be washed, but praise God I am sleeping in my own bed tonight. Once we get everything organized, and some of the new furniture gets here, I'll post pics of the finished product. It's been a hell of a ride.

i strongly remember that first night in your bed in the room that's going to be your room from now on. on top of the relief of being done with weird living situation for months, you're physically beat from moving in.

our move in weekend, we also decided to replace the carpet, paint, and scrape popcorn ceilings off of my 2 kids rooms and my guest room/office (weren't touched in the reno) right after we moved back in. Just didn't really want to settle for a few weeks and then start over again.

We had actually kept all our stuff in those 3 rooms and the garage during the reno. we got the move in OK 4PM on Friday with the walkthrough. Then my wife and i reset up our bedroom, pulled beds into the living room for the kids to sleep for the weekend, and then promptly started pulling everything out of those rooms and piling them in the now immaculate house Friday night, and then i started scraping and painting Saturday at 6 AM - Sunday around Midnight.

carpet and final touches for the house were done the next Wednesday... the day before the freeze. so i got 4 good nights in my bed till we had to bail because of no power.

On the complete opposite end of the 'farmhouse' look, this room is starting to take form. Still need wallpaper on a couple walls, need to change those light switches out to match the paint, flooring, and some ridiculous furniture to match. We got one of those old school freestanding fireplaces for this room as well.
This room will NOT age gracefully. It'll be like my Grandma's house with her bedroom of red shag carpet and red bedding (I've still got questions about grandma's younger days). But we intentionally wanted to make it pretty swanky, so whatever.

You may have mentioned it, but I didn't see - do you remember where got that fixture - my wife may or may not love it.

We ordered our fixtures from Dealer's Lighting in Bryan. I can't tell you what catalog we found it in. Looking at my invoice, the model number is 339091ml. A quick google search will pull it up online.

COVID is my excuse. We ordered a bunch of furniture and we're waiting on it to get in. Haven't forgot about this. Just haven't gotten the place properly staged yet.

And yes…the shower is epic.

Okay, for everyone who followed this thread during the remodel, "Thank You." This thread honestly
Kept me going when I was tired of the entire project. I promised I would get final pictures up, and then…two years went by. I apologize, and I've come to accept the fact that this house will never be showcase ready because we live in it and never intend to sell it. So…I went and snapped some pictures as it sits today. Thanks again for anyone who followed, and I'm sorry for not posting the finished product sooner. Excuse the mess as this house is actually used for living.
