^^ That's them. Theory 1 is cords work better with O face. Theory 2 is pin up helps prevent shorts across terminals if plug starts to come out. It's a preference thing not a code issue. And I'm just being a hater cuz everything else looked pretty Fn good in that apt.

Looks like you're missing wood trim between the refridgerator & that closet/pantry.

Just FYI
There has to be ventilation on the wall side of the refrigerator.
RTT, I may be wrong but I believe he was referring to either shoe molding or quarter round trim missing from the baseboard between the fridge and the pantry door. At least that's what it looks like to me in the pics.

I've always installed the receptacles with the ground up on all of my rennovations to help prevent shorts across the terminals if the plug starts to come out and something metal falls against the wall into the receptacle after reading a safety report published years ago on just this matter!

That is correct. I did not clarify enough.

It appears so.

I'll add that to the punch list.

This is good to know. All ours are installed with ground down.

I bet it was in the way of sliding the fridge back, so they pulled it and threw it away!!

How come no one has asked the most important question....

So what are you gonna build or renovate next?

Put in a new deck for the house this weekend.

I didn't think the apartment was done 100% quite yet?

Some minor punchlist items, but it's cleared all inspections.

Yeah, cuz that matters. RTT's place is the residential equivalent of Interstate highways in Texas. If it ain't tore up yet, count to 10. My biggest fear is one day he'll finish and then we gotta draw straws to see who's next.

I gotta give RTT props, because after all these home improvement threads I have zero interest in doing any projects. I can picture myself in tears with a contractor about whatever project I am trying to complete.

It's just little bumps in an otherwise very exciting and interesting road. Don't let it discourage you. As much as there were a few issues during the build, the end result is totally worth it.

Whatever punch list there is I can't see it. Looks pretty done to me!

Looks fantastic! I have a house or that would be a great place to stay although your rent is way more than my mortgage and about 40 miles too far.

Interesting thread. Been thinking about doing a studio office/MIL suite over my detached garage. Not sure I want to spend the cash as I won't get any rental return (in the burbs). It would be purely for my usage (work from home office) and a small gain when I sell the house. Not an apples-to-apples comparison but good read none the less.

Overall looks good. Only thing that bothers me is the apparent gap between the floors and the baseboard. I'm just so used to seeing those flush to each other.
AggieFactor

dcaggie, don think there is a gap, its quarter round that matches the floor instead of matching the base board. The only one missing is the one in front of the fridge, but that is so the fridge can slide in and out if need be

Here's the one piece of information that's probably more important than anything:

$369.04 UNDER budget.
