are those 2x4's nailed to the exterior your scaffolding? If so....wow, not for me
If that's what it is, I know some safety managers who might literally **** bricks.
that, or OSHA
And they worry about commercial construction....

This is a thing? Why not just assign an inspector to live with you full time until construction wraps up to make sure everything is perfect?

I was thinking that too. If they got ahold of those pictures, might be enough for a violation... Probably a long shot, but I wouldn't want those floating around.
Also, I have to show this to or safety guys. It'll probably make our next supers' meeting on what not to do.

That's why my builder is required to have his own insurance policy and cannot come after mine.

I was on your street yesterday and saw this build, Ryan. Looks great so far in person.

No kidding, this weather the next 10 days won't bode well for you.

The one complaint I have so far is the builder never gave me any choices for exterior pedestrian doors and I came home to find flat slab doors installed. I would have paid more for doors that aren't ugly.
quote:Leave those in place for now as construction doors. Builders treat them as disposable. Good ones will likely walk off right now.

quote:Yes, but it's bee too dark to take pics. I'll get some up today. The siding was done Friday and the old driveway is being demoed today. We'll have forms down by the end of the day and probably a pour tomorrow, depending on weather. Rough HVAC and plumbing should start today.
Any updates?

Great thing about it is I got the demo crew to do some things I was going to have to do myself. It's a lot easier to tear out a giant oleander with a bobcat than it is with a shovel.

Always a good time.
I recommend 2 or 3 pipes so the water isn't pooling to drain down.
quote:Will it do much good? It looks like the tree will block the drainage regardless of what you do. Water will basically pool behind the tree, and once it reaches a certain elevation, it will flow onto the concrete driveway. And the concrete will drain to the street.
I expanded the scope of work a little to include a small pad between the driveway and fence for my trash cans and learned quickly that I should have thought about it more before doing so.
Drainage on my lot has always been an issue, and the trash pad is going to block water that flows from the back along the fence from getting to the street. Now I have to do the mad dash to get a drain installed on the upstream side of the pad and run the pipe under the forms that are already in place before they pour tomorrow. Basically I'm going to be digging in my yard in the dark after work to get it done.
