There hasn't been anything new to see for a couple of weeks. The painters are coming today and tomorrow, so I'll get some new pics soon, provided I can get home when it's still light out.

Met with the builder at lunch today and we're slowly getting back on track. Paint, cabinets, and countertops are only 12 days behind schedule now, but nobody knows when the electrician is going to pull his head out of his ass after his surprise two-week vacation.

On the 25th, we're having EpoxyAg's folks out to do the garage floor and we'll be about two weeks from done at that point.

As a commercial electrical PM, I'd probably fire him then go cry in my office.

Painters didn't show today and the garage door production was delayed. Now I can't get Epoxy Solutions out until the first week of February, which then pushes the plumbing trim-out back. It could also cause the countertops to be pushed back another week as well.

Good thing you weren't planning on renting it out soon..... Oh wait....

The contract actually gives them 100 construction days, which is up in early March. We were hoping for occupancy on February 1, but knew it would be a long shot. I think we could still have it leased by February 15th.

Looks like that's the door into the garage. Perhaps it hides where the landing at the top of the stairs ties into the wall?

We talked about that, but ultimately I didn't like the way it looked. We're going to have gutters installed once it's done.

Not much new to report other than some drama with the contractor for the countertops.

The good news is we've now been guaranteed completion by March 1st.

Drama. ..? I haven't checked the other thread yet, but go on...

The tentative date is really around the 20th. Appliances go in on the 8th, and there is very little to do after that.

One thing I'm a little pissed about is I keep having to delay the garage epoxy because of these problems with subs. That is going to have to wait until after the build is finished, and it will have to remove the water heater to do it.

On the up side, the electrician is trying to catch up on jobs after his surprise two-week vacation. The down side is that he's just doing stuff without telling anyone when he's going to do it. The power line to my house is being moved underground, and it was supposed to be coordinated with a siding project. I came home from Chicago to find a trench and conduit in the backyard.

Speaking of Yakety Sax, it's playing at our house and has been for some time now as we're trying to get the remodel completed and moved in by the end of February as well. I'm the general contractor as well as the subs!

Counters are done in the apartment now:

Glad to hear the counters are fixed.

We have a slide in range and the counter guys omitted the strip at the back. But it was against the wall and they made a return trip and fixed it quickly. Same mistake in that we already had the range in the house and they didn't pay attention.
