I mean, a governmental entity with an endless pit of money came along threatening the existence of the PGA Tour. I don't fault anyone for a strong reaction to that. And then basically got hung out to dry after being used to help fend it off.

Totally - and I think Rory was being a little ***** today. Don't want that to get lost in this. But I'm not sure how his defense of the PGA Tour gets perceived as whiny. To each their own I guess

This is fair to an extent. He's also been a tremendous bright spot for the sport since his last major win at the PGA in '14. That's at least part of his legacy and I don't think folks will be soon to forget it.

Somewhat, but he does have 4 majors. Not winning 5+ yet has definitely been a disappointment. That said, Rory just turned 34 and Phil didn't win his 1st major until a few months before his 34th birthday

He's probably done harm to his game being the spokesperson. And then the Tour gives him the ultimate F you with that press conference regarding the merger or whatever with LIV. I bet he has some regrets.

I'm sure he does because I'm sure he didn't expect to get effed over like he did. You also can't win with the public. Roll over and you're a p***y. Fight and you're a crybaby. The guy defended his league like many top players in other sports would if a threat like that surfaced. I don't see why that should tarnish a damned thing

No. He became such arrogant, know-it-all whiner about LIV. And his constant overt and veiled shots at former teammates was just uncalled for.

Then when his buddy Jimmy Dunne / Jay Monahan announced the potential partnership-he starts backtracking a little.

His Holier-than-thou attitude became off-putting.

I can't him or Brandel Chamblee. Was a fan of Brandel's until LIV came about and he starts constant attacks on the players that went there.

I think the US makes some hay but it ultimately settles at 7-5 (15.5 - 12.5 overall) and they don't get that close to retaining the cup

I've managed to convince myself that we can make tomorrow interesting. I'm guessing I'll be over that by around 7:30.

I have a 12:40 tee time but I suspect I'll move it up to around 11:30.

Have to go 9-3 to win tomorrow. It's an extremely tall order but I'll be watching for the miniscule chance that the US team makes history. Even if we come back and win, I'll still think that Zach Johnson is a dumbass and terrible captain.
