Same.

And for the other topic, I've also done all types of varied combos and still never selected so this year I'm going back to max all.

It's been 9 years since I was one and done.

Wondering if I'm ever going to get picked again.

Fingers crossed to 2024

More likely to hit a hole in one or win the masters lottery?

I've been trying for 20 years and no luck yet.

I've already got my hole in one but I'd gladly go back in time and trade it for masters tickets.

I assume everyone maxes out their ticket allocations for each day?

I went this year. It is great. Not like the energy of The Masters but as far as seeing the course goes I think it's better. Not nearly as many people. There were times I felt like I had the place to myself.

Is the pro shop open during the women's event?

Can't personally confirm, but from what I have read, it is open and fully stocked

I think this has been asked before but can't remember. Does everyone just select max amount of tickets for every day?
I requested just a single tournament day ticket Thurs-Sun last year. No luck.

Yes. The main pro shop is open and there are some small merch stands around the grounds. The second big pro shop is not open.

Line to get into the shop was about 30-40 minutes. I never saw a time of day where it looked like the crowd was thinner. They'd let people into the shop in batches, and inside the place was a total zoo. I don't particularly LIKE crowds, but I don't get crowd anxiety like some people. Even so, I eventually I stopped shopping and GTFO because I couldn't stand it. Had someone pulled a fire alarm there would've been tramplings.

Everything else about the ANWA was total first class as expected. You could tell they use it as a training ground. A lot of folks working concessions were getting taught, but it didn't slow anything down. The merch shop was the only part of the day that was less than awesome (besides the rain delay). And it was crowded, but it's not like people were rude or angry or causing problems. Still, if I get ANWA tickets again I think I'd skip it unless it looked like things were different.

I don't have anything to compare it to. My only other trip to Augusta was for Sunday 2011. Pro shop was nothing like that back then, but it was before the ticket lottery for competition rounds. A different era since such a big percentage of attendees were regulars instead of tourists getting their only shot.

Yeah, best advice on that shop is hit it early (7am ish before ropes to the course drop) and be done with it. It was actually not bad at all then. But definitely gets crazy later

I went on Monday this year and the Merchandise building was the only thing approaching any negative.

As bagger05 said - it was beyond crowded. Our plan was to go in when we 1st got there, but at 8:30 am the line was over an hour to get in....we came back after lunch and still had to wait 35 minutes. And once inside, it was total chaos.

I've heard that they make $1million per hour on merchandise and I absolutely believe it.

That being said - I can't wait to go back one day.

You can have it shipped to your house right?

Yes - there is a separate line to Pay/Ship vs Pay/Carry Out.

We got a chance to go on Wednesday this year and the pro shop was crazy busy. I had heard stories of waiting over two hours to get into the main pro shop. It took us about 15 minutes to go through the line and they do let people in by groups. Inside was a zoo. I do get crowd anxiety, but I just treated it like H-E-B and got in and out. The same goes for shipping. Took me about 20 minutes to get through the line. The rest of the group picked their stuff up from will call. We did all of this mid-day when the lines didn't seem as long because everyone was heading over for the Par 3 Contest.

I think next year will return to normal attendance numbers.
They don't ever discuss ticket or badge numbers but the last several years included carryover tickets from previous years due to Covid or weather / rain outs…

I'd rather see both Opens and a Ryder cup -preferably in EU and call it good. Augusta may be perfectly manicured and familiar, but I personally find it a repulsive ideal with a shiny veneer. If only you could be important enough/lucky enough to be included in our party. Hey.. eff y'all I'll be happy to play/watch golf elsewhere. And no. I don't put in for the lottery.

What is "it" that you find a repulsive ideal?
One day at a time.

Let's do both!

I was lucky enough to get a free work trip to Whistling Straits in '21. Suites between the 1st and 9th holes. Super cool experience.

Now I just need to knock the other 3 off my bucket list.
