Golf Trails sent out an email with them increasing their dues and initiation fees. The course is going back and combining with Woodlands CC so you can play the Palmer course now. What's frustrating is this email made no mention of a Young Executive membership option going forward. I just emailed the membership people asking if there will be YE option. Monthly dues are now 600/month to play whenever, 500/month for all during the week and after noon Friday-Sunday. Initiation dues depend on how long you have been a member and range between $15k for full membership if you have been a member less than a year to $6k for being a member 6+ years. The Associate membership is $10k for less than a year and $4k for being a member 6 plus years. I was only paying $350/month with my YE membership and that was easy to justify with having a normal M-Friday job and mostly only being able to play on weekends and Friday afternoon.

This has been in the works the last couple of months. That said, I could not imagine paying those sorts of monthly dues to play Golf Trails which gets resort/public play as well. Are they changing anything in that realm?

It says it would be fully private, but i bet they still let the resort guests play Panther/North course. It's nice they added the Palmer course, but that course isnt anything special... Not enough to justify the big increase. People are gonna leave and then in 12 months they will want additional members and will decrease the dues. If Kingwood still has a YE option, i may just switch to them. None of these course options are good enough to justify 5-600/month and then the initiation fee on top...

What about the Tournament and Player Course?

Those included as well?

Those are not included. Thats why i think its gonna end up backfiring. The price difference between these 2 options are now so close that the only real difference is the initiation fee at Player/Tournament. I think most will just choose to go that route since the courses are much better with Player/Tournament and those can still play at Oaks/Panther and Palmer and not have to pay.

So it is essentially two tiers for a WCC membership

1st - All courses
2nd - Oaks, Panther Trail, Lake Windcrest and Palmer

Only difference is initiation is a little more for 1st tier?

No. Player and Tournament are not included in any of the memberships. That is a different membership all together through their course only.

This membership is for Oaks/Panther/Palmer/LW that you can play anytime M-S for 600/Month and then an initiation fee ranging from $15k to $6k depending on how long you have been a member.

The other option is $500/month for golf anytime Monday-Thursday and then any time after noon Friday-Sunday. With the Initiation fee ranging from $10k to $4k. I realistically need to play 2x/week at this level to make it be around $60/round...

I'm in the same boat. To make matters worse, they spun off lake windcrest too. So $10-15k plus dues nearly doubled for you to get windcrest replaced with Palmer.

I went and talked to Mitch the membership guy and he did confirm they are doing away w YE Program. I told him then there is literally zero reason for me to stay. I'll just move to Kingwood where they still offer YE. Can't justify paying 9k and 600/month for unlimited golf.

That's absolutely insane. This will absolutely backfire on them. I don't blame you one bit.

miss the old days when I was a CC travel member, $60 a month. I could play any of those courses for cart fee only.

To think members are paying $600 a month of top of crazy inititan fees to play Panther/Oak course, etc is ****ing crazy
