Will be in the area Wednesday with a few buddies that won tickets through the lottery. Looking for a Wednesday ticket if anyone has an extra they are trying to unload. I know this is highly unlikely but can't hurt to post.

Flying into Augusta on Wednesday morning, playing Bartram Trail on Wednesday afternoon. Going to the tournament Thursday/Friday, heading back to Dallas late Saturday. This will be my third time to go in the last four years, but I'm just as excited as I was in 2016 when I went for the first time...

Bachelor party in Phoenix starting Thursday morning. Fly to Atlanta early Sunday morning and driving to Augusta in the afternoon. Practice round tickets for Monday and Tuesday, then headed back home Wednesday evening.

My first time to attend the tournament and I am stoked!! My one thing to watch out for is that 6:15am flight Sunday morning after a late night at Talking Stick Casino.

Yea, I've been eyeing Monday and the thunderstorm percentage has me annoyed.

I got rained out two years ago as well.

Monday looks worse and worse every day as we get closer. Tuesday looking better.

Was anyone selected in 2017 when it got completely rained out? Did they give you a make up or or was it just "thanks come again"?

On Monday they didn't give us a make up because the storms came in during the afternoon, and their reasoning was that the course was open for a good period.

In the past, if a practice round is 100 percent washed out, the lottery winner gets a practice round ticket for the same day next year. If the course is even open for an hour, no refunds.

And if you bought a ticket on secondary market, you are SOL if it's washed out.

So if I'm understanding you correctly, the lottery winner only gets one ticket despite originally winning 4?

You'd get 4. In theory. But as mentioned, they've gotten very tight about what they consider a "make good" weather event.

For those with tickets to days next week where the weather looks sketchy, here are some things that may be helpful to know so that you can maximize the time you do get on the grounds:
1) IF THEY SUSPEND PLAY DUE TO THUNDERSTORMS, THEY KICK YOU OFF THE GROUNDS COMPLETELY. THE SHOPS CLOSE TOO. DON'T PLAN ON USING A WEATHER SUSPENSION TO GET YOUR SHOPPING DONE.
2) Because they kick you off the grounds, if they reopen, this means full security and ticket scanning process again to regain entry. Huge, slow pain when EVERYONE is trying to get back in at the same time.

So my advice to manage this is as follows, which saved our day in 2017:
1) Get there EARLY. You want to be one of the first through the outer gates at 7am so that you can get your shopping done before the ropes to the course itself open at 8am.
2) As soon as you buy your stuff, SHIP it home. There are stands set up to do this and it's really easy. This will save you from having to carry it or worry about retrieving it later if they close
3) Park close to the gate (this will pretty much happen if you follow 1 above). If play is suspended and you get the boot, this allows you to wait the storm out near the gate, and as soon as the weather breaks, head back to the gate ASAP so you can be one of the first to re-enter when/if they re-open.

Being a local now, I just get just make the 3 mile drive from the house to the course so nothing like most of you guys. For those of you playing Bartram, its in great shape and my go to course out here. If anyone is going to play Mount Vintage, I was just there a few weeks ago and the greens are a bit of a mess. Would not recommend.

Thanks for the clarification.

Yeah, I did the same thing on the Monday round of 2017 - got shopping done and stored it with check in, then made it out to the course. Got to spend around half the day before it shut down for good due to storm/tornado warning.

Yeah, I'm not liking the Monday forecast. Not gonna be very happy if it rains the whole time, especially on the only day I"m going (as a first timer).

Only wins for tournaments that award full FedEx Cup points qualify you.

That tournament will get you in starting next year.

As the other guy said, you only get in if you win a full-point-allocation tournament.

To clarify, that basically includes all PGA Tour events EXCEPT the "opposite-field" events, which are the PGA events opposite of the WGC's.

Sanderson Farms was the same week as the WGC-HSBC in China, which is where basically all the top players were. Winning one of those is still huge because of the tour exemptions, but doesn't get you an exemption into the Masters.

He also could have made it by getting into the top 50 in the world by last week, but he didn't play well enough in Jan/Feb/March to get there.

The only way left to qualify for the Masters, if you haven't already, is to win the Valero this week.
