First full round in over a year. Started taking it seriously again by taking lessons in January and playing a few holes here and there.

Front 9 was a nightmare. Back 9 much better. Carded a 103.

It's too hot for this s*** but I'm addicted. F golf.

Best round I've played since starting again (yes I know it's a super easy course), and could have played so much better.

Hit multiple drives <100 yds on back, one of them less than 50

1st hole Monday league, hit it 40-yards away from the green, left side with a bunker between me and the hole and not much room to work with....(hole was 320 par 4, downhill and it was very dry so I got like 60+ yards of roll out, defining not my normal drive length).

try to flop it up high to get it over the bunker and land and stop on the green...NO, decide to instead BLADE IT over the green and now I'm actually further off the green than I was the previous shot. Chilly dip the come back, still not on green. Finally pitch it on, but I'm like 40-feet from the hole. Proceed to 3-putt....Effing TRIPPLE after a great drive. Three putted 2 more times (once from 15-feet) and finished with a 46.

EFF GOLF!

Played my first round while going through a swing and grip change.

The good: the driver. I pulled it 12 times and absolutely piped 10 of them. Best driver round of my life.

The bad: literally every other club in my bag. Especially my wedges. Hit a drive to 25 yards on a par 4. Slide the first wedge under for a 10 yards. Blade the second for 30 yards. Hit a drive to 150 yards on a par 5. Push slice the next into the woods. Drive a short par 4. Three putt for par. Rinse and repeat all day.

Hit 5 tee shots in the hazard (*penalty areas) on the first 10 holes… 2 with hybrid… left 3 putts hanging over the lip and had 2 other lips outs. 81

It's MF'n Member Guest Weekend at my old course and I'm playing as the GUEST. We were the runner up last year!

We will most likely lose to some sand bagging MOFO 2 index with 12 handicap!

Nightmare,

My partner got the shanks. During the practice round, he shanked 7 shots. Today, he started off with a shank 9 iron on par 3. Then he started leaving 2nd shots around 150 yards so he can hit hybrids... He started shaking hybrids too.

We are seated in 4th flight and have to win to advance to the shoot out. Normal circumstances, we'd win the flight easy... Unless there's a divine intervention tonight, tommorw will be a rough day.

About a week ago the shanks came out of nowhere. The more I tried to fix it the worse I got. My buddy recorded my shot with the camera facing me on the other side of the ball on a par 3 tee shot.

I was getting too close to the ball. Moved back to the proper distance away and also made sure I was keeping the club face more square, and ithey went away.

Wow..

This weekend may have been the most extreme and difficult golf experience of my life. We went 76-75 gross and net even and -1 and my partner contributed in 2 holes during the entire weekend. And what do you say to a guy who is actively shanking and hitting fat back to back to back...

Gotta give the golf gods their "F golf" offering after a good round today.

Tuesday I basically hit dead pull yanks or complete duffs off the tee for the first six holes.

On the sixth hole I was waiting to tee off. There was a guy in the fairway about 275 out. And of course the guy I'm playing with has seen nothing but garbage from me all day and says "Hey, I think you can probably hit." I tell him I need to wait... if I hit it well I can get it to him.

Wait a couple minutes for him to clear out. Then I hit another straight yank into the net protecting the street which is about 30 degrees left of the fairway and only about 20 yards away.

What a stupid game.

After my last experience, I had a short game lesson and then played yesterday.

The good: best chipping and pitching round of my life. Also lag putted really well.

The bad: couldn't hit my driver at all!

Literally the opposite of my last round.

One of the worst rounds I've played in years. Went par, double, triple, triple, triple to start my round. On my way to a smooth 54 on the front.

Patience got a really good workout.

Played better on the back. Managed to keep it under 100 but only just.

But for a while it was like I forgot how to play.

Hoping I got all the bad stuff out today.

I totally get the frustration. I've had my share of rough rounds where nothing seemed to go rightslices off the tee, duffs, and missed putts.

There was one day when I felt like throwing my clubs into the nearest pond after a string of bad holes. But I always remind myself that golf is just as much about the good days as the challenging ones.

When everything clicks, and you hit that perfect shot, it makes all the struggles worth it. It's a love-hate relationship, but the love always brings me back to the course.

Shot my worst score for the year for 9-holes Sunday before last (50), then followed it up with a 55 on Monday evening. On Monday, 1st hole, third shot on a par 5 I don't know WTF I did but I hit it almost exactly 90-deg to where I was set up, and under a tree so two more to get on a 3 putt for an 8.

Shanked another one on the pitch to a par 3 the same way, 3 putted for a 6.

Just an all around disaster of a round on Sunday then Monday. Worst par was my drives were good for all buyt maybe 2-holes of the 13 I used the driver. And both rounds I hit ~20-balls at the range to warm up and hit just fine.

In the 18-holes over 2-days I made 2 pars, no birdies and a whole lot of triples. I'm hanging up the clubs for the year unless my son asks me to play. NFW I'm going on my own.

F Golf.

Been playing for a year now. Started the season at a 15 handicap. Worked my way down to a 12.7, but the last month has been one ass kick after another. Get my driver straightened out to suddenly lose any ability to hit my three wood. Get my three wood back lose the ability to hit my 4-5 iron. Get my chipping down only to three putt. Have gone back up to a 14. Makes me want to put the clubs away, but eph it I will be back out there tomorrow grinding.

Could also be that the last two club tourney's I have played in I have been severely hungover...... nah....

Built up all that confidence and then hit the turn. Not a single par on the back 9, couldn't hit a putt for ****
