That's also going to hurt from a numbers standpoint. You can't replace 10+ scholarships in the middle of the summer. Depending on the signing rules, they may not be able to make up the difference next year either.

So they aren't giving 10 releases from LOI. And some of those kids are just weighing options and will eventually report once they realize a damaged Baylor is still their best option.

If any of those kids have some college hours already, maybe they can go the JUCO route, graduate, and have 4 years to play 3. Or they just go a year without scholly at the school they wanna go to (maybe get grants to help pay tuition) and then have all their elegibility left.

This is Grobe's job #1 right now is to get these guys on campus.

I'd love to cherry pick that list too. And they'd be freebies - they'd go against 2017. Couldn't play this year, though.

There is no way the ncaa would let baylor hold their LOI's hostage. It might take some time for the veto to come down from the NCAA, but I highly doubt they don't let these kids go somewhere else without penalty.

I didn't miss it - I ignored it because it proves you're not familiar with how college football works.

Scholarship football players are expected to report for summer school - they're on scholarship - and it doesn't matter if they've graduated yet. My son reported for summer school at his college a week before high school graduation, flew back in to walk the stage and flew right back.

I have a son graduating this weekend from high school who hasn't set foot on his high school campus in the last two weeks because he's in Ohio preparing for a summer activity related to his college major.

Those kids are supposed to be on campus and enrolled for summer school. Some may have chosen to enroll 2nd session but that sure as hell wasn't what Briles expected of them when they signed with Baylor - he expected them there May 30.

I thought I saw somewhere that Texas had 81 scholarships so (if accurate) they would have 4 scholarships available.
