And how do you normally insulate them you might ask? By 2x4 framing and putting either fiberglass insulation or spray foam.TMoney2007 said:
Container houses,.. so hot right now...
When you cut the walls out, you have to reinforce them. Usually unrecycled, new, expensive steel that totally negates the "affordable" or "environmentally friendly" aspects of container homes.
Plus you have to insulate them. Many container home developers order custom 9' tall containers.
You're paying just as much to have a crappy looking house that's not any better than a normal stick framed house.

actually with 62 acres and a 3/3 4000SF "guest house " in addition to the bachelor pad it does seem like sort of a bargainGeographyAg said:It's a bargain. 1 bedroom 1.5 bath for 3.9 mil.ringrit said:

The normal house appears to be part of the sale, as well. I was curious and looked it up. It is owned by Michael K Young and Marti Young.
As a nearby landowner, the construction of the two "hangers" took.....a very long time. With some major periods of inactivity.one MEEN Ag said:
The crazy part is how much money was devoted to a one bedroom airplane hanger. And you can't easily make it more than one bedroom because its in the center of the house with a walk around balcony. Like you're going to have a 2nd deck audience judging you in bed.
"Yeah grandkids, come on over for a weekend visit. Y'all can sleep in the living room and hear grandma/grandpa snore"
I wonder what the other house on the property looks like on the inside.GSS said:As a nearby landowner, the construction of the two "hangers" took.....a very long time. With some major periods of inactivity.one MEEN Ag said:

For the main "party/1-bedroom" building, the view from the road is nothing but metal (and five A/C units). But all out on the pool and deck side.
It was built in the mid-90's, and Marti's son lived in it for a few years.TJaggie14 said:I wonder what the other house on the property looks like on the inside.GSS said:As a nearby landowner, the construction of the two "hangers" took.....a very long time.
