Saw your Friday post for silver on Stock Market thread.

Silver to take a breather by Wednesday.

Do we get a significant pullback in gold as well?

Silver spot up a little over 10% in a week...

That's kinda spicy.

Still not convinced of a bottom. We never got the capitulation flush. It's trying its hardest though. If next pullback is overlapping looking, could be worth a buy.

I'm ready for this ridiculous AI bubble to pop. The stock market is so wild and irrational it has become borderline insane. The longer it goes on, the worse the correction or possible crash is going to be. The AI pop should make gold and silver fairly cheap again...at least for a little bit. I've got some dry powder just ready to go.

Who's going to put a pin in this bubble?
- Private equity
- BoJ (Yen)
- Bonds (Sovereign debt crisis)
- Oil (Iran conflict)

Who's going to get wrecked when this bubble pops?
- That guy
- Everyone
- Everyone but Wall Street
- Republicans in mid-terms
- Not me...I saw this coming miles away

Everyone but that one guy that I used to work with that retired from a lucrative remote engineering job a decade ago and learned blacksmithing to join a prepper community in rural Illinois.

Measured in Gold, The Story of American Wages is an Ugly One

Quote:

The bottom line is that, in terms of gold, wages have fallen by about 87 percent. To get a stronger sense of what that means, consider that back in 1965, the minimum wage was 71 ounces of gold per year. In 2011, the senior engineer earned the equivalent of 63 ounces in gold. So, measured in gold, we see that senior engineers now earn less than what unskilled laborers earned back in 1965.

That's right: today's highly skilled professional is making less in real, comparative terms than yesterday's unskilled worker.

I guess we're splitting labor costs with modern efficiencies...

Just found it interesting.

Please hold on to it. You'll thank yourself later. If you need the money, choose one of the recommended that will take it off your hands.

If you get good recs

Chances are the posters have already done the driving around and most shops are going to be with in 1-3 in silver and 20-60 difference in gold

So 10 oinces at 40,000 or drive around for 4 hours and get 40,600.00

I am going where i feel comfortable

Thanks. Just trying to take the advice here and find someone who's had a good experience, piggy back on that, rather than driving all day long to get multiple quotes, only to spend half the difference in gas money.

Call them. They'll tell you what they're paying, and the differences will be wild. You don't have to drive all over central Texas.

Things are probably about to get wild again but, the paper PM market will do what they always do. Margin requirements and spot premiums will become increasingly prohibitive, trading will be halted via some trading center losing a cooler or a trading glitch will rear it's ugly head. PMs will hit a new ATH then fall by 40% in a day. Meanwhile, BTC will probably race towards 200K...lol. There's just no truth in this market. It's whatever the banking elites say it is and you're allowed crumbs while the bond market collapses and petrodollar is being destroyed. It's all a little crazy. Keep stacking fellas.

Their offer was not competitive, imo.

Houston Gold Buyers at 1330 Westheimer Road is a much better option.

For everyone's benefit, it might be helpful to list the price quoted versus spot from various outlets. That's the way most of them price these days.

I only got silver quoted. Houston Gold Buyers was $4 under for American Eagles and $6 under for bars/rounds. US Coins was $6 under for American Eagles and $8 under for bars/rounds. not a huge difference, but on a few pounds it adds up.

I wonder if anyone here thinks that the longer-term normal situation where dealer buys were closer to spot and sales a good bit higher? Either way, this bid and ask spread reality is why I've shied away from physical metals the last few years. I'd rather skip this built-in significant round-trip haircut (over 10% total for silver currently!?!?) by buying SLV or GLD exchange traded funds. At least with those, the built-in expense ratio remains constant for the most part between the time you buy or sell. Also, consider the fact that over a 50+ year time horizon, gold only returns 75% of the S&P500 annual rate of return. Of course, this doesn't apply to hard-core stackers like TTUARMY and others, who never intend to sell until Armageddon hits, if then.

So, if any shoppers want to complete this anecdotal Texas market analysis by posting dealers quoted buy and sell price for gold and silver, this would help us all in our decision-making. I'm amazed at the disparity of pricing between metal dealers. TexAgs crowd-sourcing dealers of choice can be helpful!
