There has been a positive to negative post ER alternating swing pattern the last 6 or so quarters. Last qtr was a negative 12%.

Grabbed AVGO at 348.

Eh, I am staying away from AVGO. Every moving average looks to be rolling over.

If it drops to near $330 and holds it for a bit I would reconsider.

Bolded is the problem.

Earnings are scatterbrained events. IV on options explodes leading into it and then decays like crazy afterward.

If we weren't so elevated with VIX so low, I'd say to pivot to a strategy of selling puts on stocks you want during earnings. If they go up, you capture the elevated premiums. If they go down, you get the stock at a level you're comfortable. But where we are now, there could be a lot of down around the corner. So have to be more careful.

Definitely a strategy I play, but I am leveraged to a point, where I am still comfortable but I am more of writing calls. AVGO shot up 4% in the last couple minutes

Whatever was said in the last 10 min in AVGO call, must have been amazing.

My add is at $340 for AVGO. Almost got there, and then my next level is 325 to buy bigger.

Yep those 2028 numbers are very impressive if they can execute.

I don't hate it because it's sitting right on top of the 38% Fib retrace from the top of the last big move AND also sitting on top of the 200 day moving average. I would put a stop on it at $750 though. If it turns up from here, expect some turbulence when you hit $875 which is where it will hit the 50 day, 100 day, and the upper bollinger band of the 20 day.

Don't want to jinx anyone but this feels like another short term SOXL bottom.

I'm getting out at 114.95, 120.95, 127.95.

Obviously SNDK has had a historic rise, but talk me out of reducing my position. 99% of everything I read from reliable sources, says it's a screaming buy (at least short-term) yet it's been in a rut. Both it and MU have had me waiting on a mini rip. Sell some weekly calls maybe?

If you aren't over exposed to it I would hold on. If it can just grind $25-50 above where it's at it will hop back over the 50 day moving average and have no moving averages above it and 3 just below it for support. I would not sell calls because if it moves from here you will lose big in either direction.

What I would do in your situation is set a stop below the moving averages that you can live with the result in either case if it: 1) drops to that area and then immediately reverses leaving you behind the up move or 2) drops to that area and then continues falling, saving you money.

But I own it, and I am not putting a stop on it. But in the mid 1300s I would definitely at least consider selling it.

If it can reclaim the 50 day (currently around 22.75) and hold above it I like it. It was heading for a golden cross before today, and still may get one if it can get back above that 50 day.
