I want people to understand the opportunity and the risk and to make the best decision for themselves. I try to let them know where I stand and what I have to gain or lose so they know I'm not pump and dumping or talking out of my ass. I'm not an investment advisor. Just someone trying to help. But I learned the hard way not to follow anyone who doesn't advise where their analysis could be wrong. Sometimes I rush to make a post during a busy period of the day. This one, I realized I didn't highlight any risks. We have earnings. There's always risks on earnings moves. Wanted people to know Im bullish, but what the downside could be if Im wrong.bmoochie said:

Just being fully transparent here.. this doesn't have to be the day that UPST takes off. I hope it is, and I have a large position. But I can see a scenario where it falls back under $60 today. If you can't stomach that, then please use risk management.
I would not be buying calls. IV is very high. On the flip side, selling puts can be a great way to extract some premium here. IV decay is going to crush the value of options in the coming days, even if there's a sizeable move.
hell yes! needed this!Heineken-Ashi said:
Boom. UPST got $80. Let's see if she just rips or decides to consolidate.
I took my gains and ran $2 too early and climbing, mostly to offset the pain of some of my stop outs, but also cuz I'm a *****. Hope yall have better diamond hands than meHeineken-Ashi said:
Just a reminder, no matter what your methodology is, the patience and uncertainty you have to fight through. But if you have a sound system and stick with your conviction, it can work out beautifully.
Projecting the consolidation. But won't rule out a rip straight to target.
geez, I feel so inadequate with my 30 share playgougler08 said:
Have 200 net free shares left of UPST so now need to decide how to play it. Let it ride to $100 or sell some here?

I'm riding. Ideally it doesn't see below $78 again. Last earnings had an initial push on earnings day, then ripped the next couple of days.gougler08 said:

That was from the post I had on Jan 16th. If tomorrow doesn't move any higher, it's likely going to consolidate and can be at the mercy of market volatility. Anywhere between $60 and $70 is possible, even after this rip, while maintaining bullishness. I have my stop at $73.50 pre-breakout range and would be willing to get back on a hold anywhere above $60. But if this is like the last earnings move, you could see this play out over the next week..Quote:
August 5th low - $19.95. Earnings Aug 6th.
August 29th post earnings high - $45.54 - over 2x
Nov 4th low - $47.11. Earnings Nov 7th.
Nov 11th post earnings high - $86.07 - nearly 2x
If you’re wondering how $SMCI earnings went.

SMCI under $30 was a great gift the other week. Hopefully they are back on track
Nice trade and thank you for bringing both sides to the board.Heineken-Ashi said:

**** it. I guess I'm back in on SMCI.
A tiny sliver of my position from last year though. And I'm annoyed I jumped back in almost $13 above where I sold, but eh. I made those losses back with SOXL at least.
