Excited about silver, but not trusting it. Just bought February $28.5 puts as protection. If it goes up, I have plenty of shares as well as March $28, $30, and $35 calls I bought last year. If it stalls and reverses, especially considering it never got quite as low was I was looking for, I should have a chance to cash in some profit from the puts to lessen the pain.

Let's just hope it keeps going up.

I panic sold my small position for a small loss at the first drop of the news. freed up my position to generate some cash that I moved to some other stuff I had my eyes on so calling it a smart move for now and taking the W. Just not confident in it with the mix of the China news AND Trump policies announcement. It's not going anywhere of course and it'll bounce back but I'm waiting for a while. Going to play it conservatively this time.

I've never been to Twin Peaks. Wife was training in College Station, staying at the Best Western, and went there for dinner and drinks a couple of nights with some of her classmates because it was close by. She said the food and drinks were actually pretty good.

Some interesting divergence



The 2020 low had positive divergence with RSI leading into it, with MACD on a positive trend. This recent low had similar positive RSI divergence leading into it, but negative divergence with MACD. This gives me pause on expecting any sort of renewed cycle up. This most likely leads to either range bound or significant decline.

I understand not wanting to take the tax hit. But gains aren't gains unless you book them. And even if this goes range bound, it could be for a very long time. Taking the profits from MSFT and deploying into something safe could "potentially" pay you back for that tax hit while protecting the gains should MSFT see a huge decline.

No easy call though. Future is always unknown. All we can do is make educated guesses based on what is visible at the time.
Just saying.. sometimes there's just nobody left to buy and the bid fails to take. Divergence is always the first clue.

I sold most of my Microsoft last year @ $441. I will owe more taxes than I want to pay in April but at least I have the money to pay them. 2024 was a good year.

I'm still long MSFT. They are leading the pack by far for enterprise ready AI. They are probably the real winner coming out of deepseek revolution as the workloads will all be on Azure. They have quite the moat for the ecosystem you need around AI. Especially for enterprises.

Sold my APPL this morning int he premarket. Sold NVDA and MSFT the other day. Looking for reentry on MSFT eventually, but probably laying low on APPL and NVDA for a while. All 3 have been volatile as hell the past 6 months.Buying SPY with the proceeds for now.

Thoughts on GOF as a CEF? .18/share monthly dividend, 2% fee. It is at a 27% premium right now though.
