I'd guess some were closed then. It was 56,000 volume/open interest Friday. Either way, that's a massive number on the $U options chain and sticks out like a sore thumb.

I never gamble on my options trades with 0DTE or anything like that, but the R/R is too good on this for me to pass up. (With going $5 lower than that $30 strike to get the 10x return should it reach that level.)

I see two scenarios

1. Someone saw potential for big jump and wanted the cheapest exposure to capturing the gain.
2. Someone saw potential for a small jump and used these as a very cheap but good R/R trade.

I wouldn't look at things like this and think there's a magnet at that strike. More often than not, that large of volume isn't intending to ride or die. It's attempting to get a quick return on first move.

I agree and don't normally look at options volume like that. Just a cheap speculation about 1 month out on expiry.

I have set targets and entries on my normal option trades, so this is a one off.

It looks like the 8 day EMA on the 30 min chart has been a pretty good support on this run but it's starting to flatten out, so definitely keeping a close eye on it in this area.

Tempted to sell a TSLA call here for OCT as I see it falling to $220-$230 short term. Might try to squeeze out a little more premium.

I like FUTU into November earnings. I think it sees $95+ before a very large reversal downward.

November $75 calls look very tasty. Might pull the trigger this week. Will post if I do.

not sure how to put it, was just repeatedly buying small batches throughout 2021-2023 regularly but not on any set schedule, have never had more conviction in a single company but still wish had the balls to go heavier, have never sold a share though

Understandable. Saw you were around 70% index and then smaller percentages in individuals with PLTR being the largest individual stock holding. So I was curious.

SLV still hasn't fully broken out. Outperformance of silver against gold and silver against equities could only be just beginning. You've had months to build positions. Don't sell now on the eave of a potential MASSIVE breakout just because you see some green UNLESS you have significant risk that you never mitigated. Reduce your risk if you have to, but don't leave promising positions just because they start to work. Understand the thesis. The thesis was SLV $40. I wanted it in an August or September pop based on past election cycles, but it's extended a little bit in time. But the thesis is still valid.

Risk management, then enjoy the ride.

I've swing traded this thing 5-6 times over the last couple of years and never hesitate going back into it in larger size each time on a pullback. I never pick the top but the ROI on this method is off the charts.

I was mostly agreeing with you and showing that there is considerable risk overhead at a major resistance point while in the midst of negative divergence on multiple timeframes.
