If we run up the top of that upper 5-mIn BB for the next couple candles, I'll get back in calls. If we come off for the next couple candles, I'll get in some puts at strikes close to the lower BB.
I got in SPX and TSLA puts. I'll look to sell half as either hits yesterday's closing price to test that.

Times we've seen a breakout recently, we hit and run up along the upper BB. I was going to give it 10-15 minutes to do that before deciding it was something to follow. When it hasn't continued to run along that upper BB and either gone sideways or come down - either way getting below the upper BB for a few candles, it's gone to the midpoint at least, if not gone back down for the lower BB.
So that was my thinking. Since it came off that and stayed in the range I'm in puts now, but about to take some off as we test yesterday's SPX close near the middle of the 5-min channel.
Does that better explain what I was thinking?

I don't think he was buying at the top of the BB. Yes. I thought it was likely to bounce off the stop and come back into the range. That's why I sold my calls at the upper BB and was waiting for the price to confirm if we were headed back down by either moving down or just moving sideways.
Although, right or wrong, if we would have seen 2-3 green 5-min candles running along with or above that upper BB, I would have bought back into calls hoping to catch it in a major green breakout.
I'm not saying that's the right way to play it, but that was my thought process.
