I'm not concerned about the company or their earnings that are next week but in this macro market, who knows what it does. AMD had great earnings and still fell with the market. I'm scaling in at these levels but not heavy. I want to see their earnings next week. I'm not selling any though.AgEng06 said:

Anyone that has access to option flows want to look at Clean Harbors or WM? Reason I ask as that is kind of my industry I deal with and I found out CH seems to be letting go of a lot of higher level type of people which lead me to think a buyout is going to happen. Republic has purchased a lot of environmental/disposal type facilities as has Waste Management. I think they are trying to monopolize the market and those are the two heavy hitters so makes me think potentially WM is on deck to counter.
Just some food for thought and maybe something to look into further to see if we can find something in the option flow weeds. Edited to say this could be a lot of nothing but wanted to bring this up in case there is anyone else in this industry seeing anything different.

The amount of paper loss that I've had in my IRA since November makes me sick. Really at a point of not knowing what to do next... Kind of makes me feel like I've let my family down.

Only thing Ive done this week is lessen my exposure to CROX after taking it up the BOLLOX. Its in the midst of a seven layer from the pages of Dante's Inferno, and I ruefully went heavy when it was still in purgatory thinking it had already hit the bottom of the Stygian Sea. Thankfully, ZIM putting in more work for my port than Tess Holiday's belt buckle. It saved me more than once.
Still fully exposed like Paul Reuben, but looking to go cash heavy once we get a rebound rip and some direction on the next leg of shipping via Shanghai and the ILWU talks.
Only new add on is SPR, a personal swinger's dream that would make Jada Pinkett blush. RSI currently at 23 and heavily pounded the past two days. Like I said it will make Jade Pinkett blush. Its served me well in the past and it's currently near its 52 week low. Heavily coincides with BA, which has seen a solid bludgeoning.

Unless you are retiring next year I honestly wouldn't worry. I just don't even log in right now and check my long retirement accounts. It was a bloodbath and no doubt it is even worse now. In my opinion, if my portfolio (the market in general) hasn't recovered in a year or two we all have bigger concerns than retirement. Keep adding to 401ks and choose wisely on adding to after tax stuff. That's me at least. Much smarter people may tell me to stop posting lol.

If you have money in the market your investment horizon should be 5+ years at the minimum, more likely on the scale of decades. The day to day doesn't really matter. Just keep your head and continue investing and check back in 5, 10, 20 years.
What would after tax stuff matter on 401K? Whole thing is tax deferred right
