Y'all making $ ?
I'm not concerned about the company or their earnings that are next week but in this macro market, who knows what it does. AMD had great earnings and still fell with the market. I'm scaling in at these levels but not heavy. I want to see their earnings next week. I'm not selling any though.AgEng06 said:
Thoughts on TTD? It's just below my basis now, so I'm considering selling and rebuying if it continues lower.

Farmer @ Johnsongrass, TX said:Technically, a 20%, or greater, downward correction would be needed in the DJIA all time closing high to the DJIA closing low to be considered a bear market and change of direction. Currently, the market is in a Mega Bull Market and has been for a long time; however, there can be Cyclical Bear Markets within a Mega Bull Market. So, what is this current market? IMO it's a wide basing within a Mega Bull Market. I would not be surprised to see the market trade this wide basing the majority of the year. Also, this is a mid-term off Presidential election year. These types of years, mid-term off Presidential election year, tend to provide a great buying opportunity at some point. History proves this over the last 50 to 60 years. Last one was Nov 2018.Irish 2.0 said:And if you remove the other stocks it's a bull market. Can't pick and choose what equities to include in an analysis of what type of market we're in. I'm by no means saying it is a bull market, but it's not a bear market either IMO$30,000 Millionaire said:if you removed the big 5, i think it is a bear market.Irish 2.0 said:Some MS dip**** is on CNBC saying we're in a bear market. I wouldn't call this market a bear market yet, but it's not really a bull market anymore eitherEngine10 said:

I'm not looking for a pity party or anything and will just leave it at this one post but goodness I'm feeling kind of defeating right now. The amount of paper loss that I've had in my IRA since November makes me sick. Really at a point of not knowing what to do next... Kind of makes me feel like I've let my family down.

I'm right there with you. (Minus the family.)
The amount I've lost by trying my hand at trading rather than just letting my index funds do their thing makes me sick to my stomach.

Good to know. Thanks. Is there a specific reason why or is it just out of spite? Lol.

I bet small and I'm looking for a mean reversion. The market has sold 7% this week. I said up front I was going to hold through pain.

Unless you are retiring next year I honestly wouldn't worry. I just don't even log in right now and check my long retirement accounts. It was a bloodbath and no doubt it is even worse now. In my opinion, if my portfolio (the market in general) hasn't recovered in a year or two we all have bigger concerns than retirement. Keep adding to 401ks and choose wisely on adding to after tax stuff. That's me at least. Much smarter people may tell me to stop posting lol.
