Wonder how much pork that they tacked on that, or if they will try one of those slight of hands to sneak election reform in through a reconciled bill from the House.

I don't trust those MFers.

Daylight savings associated with increase in stroke and heart attack risk in two days after daylight savings time.

I treated two ruptured aneurysms and an ischemic stroke between Saturday and Monday. Just saying…..

During WWII they had year round day. Was known as WAR TIME.

So if you lived in Dallas you were on central war time (CWT).

War Time sounds cooler than Daylight Saving Time so I'm in, as long as they call it War Time again.

Fundamentally, bullish corn and wheat.

If you plan to take positions, consider this,
1. End of March, USDA comes out with Planting Intentions Report. Just as in every year, everything the USDA reports SHOULD make the world look like rainbows & unicorns. This report normally sets commodity prices back. Producers hate when this report comes out. Why? Because, typically just as you have witnessed a rise in commodities over the past few months, USDA in all their glorious wisdom will kill the rally with that report, just like clockwork. Great opportunity to enter a position somewhere after that report. (I'll be looking at WEAT and CORN ETF's for positions - it's easier on my wife who would be having to tend to these ETF positions versus Futures if I get called to my Maker. I've cut back a lot on risk over the last few years because of life in general, just sayin'.)
2. Typically, a normal day in commodities (Futures) is like owning TSLA shares. Just prepare mentally. And, when you know the crop is short and not looking good and the price should be moving up.....the Futures react moving downward.. (think about it this way, a company beating earnings & giving positive guidance, all is looking good and then the share price takes a beating - same type of reverse logic game). Another example: In the 1985/86 the southeastern U.S. burned up in drought, every SE state was a total loss. That crop devastation did not affect the Chicago Corn or Wheat Futures 1 penny. Tells you what Chicago thinks about crop production in the SEUS. Logically you would think prices would move up.
3. If you enter a long position in corn, look for exiting some of it the week before Memorial Day or the week of Memorial Day. Usually get a nice run up from April 1st to end of May. Keep some runners to gamble on a hot & dry July and get some whiplash volatility in July or August.
4. Wheat - If you are playing a long position in wheat, you want KC Wheat or Hard Red Winter (HRW) Wheat, not Chicago Wheat or Soft Wheat. KC or HRW is where the action is. ***Side Note: Had a contact that personally put on a Bull Spread a few months back, he lifted all of it about 2 weeks ago. Had $6k in his checking account....called me and said the deposit was $327k after the play. It could have easily turned the other direction and it did 2 days later - BE CAREFUL - *** HRW is in short supply. Flour Millers want HRW because it has high protein. A Miller sells flour on specs to a baker. When short protein in a flour spec, HRW is used to bring the product up to meet spec. There are "blends" (for wheat) and "mixes" (for flour), just depends which process you use to meet the flour spec for the baker.(like crack spread on a barrel of oil and what it yields) I digress, but HRW is usually the critical component and the commodity market to make money in. If I remember correctly, the WEAT ETF is based on Chicago wheat futures. The only reason I'll consider WEAT is because "people" just know the wheat market is tight and they're buying it without knowing the detail (KC vs CHI). I think there's enough liquidity in that trade for me to disregard the detail and play the volatility. (Ignorance is bliss, right?)
5. As for corn, I believe, eventually the data will come out (might take until the end of the year) there will be a larger story in corn than in wheat.

Hope this helps you.
