Followed OA's 30P for next week.
Do you have a reason for following or was it a just because he did it? Not trying to be condescending, but following OA blindly will lead to a blown up account speaking from experience. He took those puts when UAL is already down 40% in less than a month. Hell, it was down 25% over the three prior trading days.

OA has some good calls, but need to do our own due diligence and understand he can take more chances than most

Honestly, I don't have a reason, other than pressing. Certainly not when looking at the chart.

What do you typically target for your stops (assuming a non-lotto)? I typically look at 25-30% loss as my threshold.

You want to buy, simplistically, on the following conditions:

  • touch into demand (long)
  • Breakout (long or short)
  • Touch into supply (short)
  • Squeeze with expected positive momentum
  • Trade with trend, long or short

Your stop should be at the loss of validity of the pattern. When I trade 0 DTE, I try to give it ample room to work and we're risking small. Let me chart the USO trade today and show why I put the stop so close to entry.
