Selling to open three 7.5P on MTTR for 2/18 expiration @ 0.46

This is a good company that's been beaten. I'm OK owning at $7.04

Quick action from SPY just before FOMC minutes get released? I wonder if something important is being released.

I've been buying lately with a cost basis of 7.91. May try to get that even lower but still feels like a deal to me in the long run

If you are looking to buy stock to hold, the rule of thumb is give it three days to get the non-natural moves out. You might get to buy it at $70 just yet.

It would have certainly been a good trade, though.

Midterms coming up. NOW it's an "emergency".

We need less legislation not more. That is what got us here.

Remember when Trump was doing something like repealing three orders for each one he passed or something like that. This is the way.

Oh good, going to nationalize some industries to cover up ****ty Dem policies?

Or maybe just print another couple trillion to give everyone a $1K check to help with inflation while inflating the money supply.

If they give all families $25K that would hedge off inflation impact, right?

Maybe some other subsidies can be tossed in as well....free stuff helps....

Edit: clearly you are a fiscal conservative and only want to give $1K....I say why $1K when if you give everyone $25K+ then everyone will be middle class citizens and we will have ended poverty permanently....

those damn f'ing numb skulls. There is zero legislation you can pass to curb inflation. What are they going to do, set price controls? Guess what, dummies, suppliers won't sell and there will be zero products.

If you really want to stop inflation, raise rates 200 basis points right now.

But if you're trying to destroy the economy and middle class to usher in the digital dollar and more totalitarian control of the country, it makes total sense.

Am I crazy (don't answer that) for thinking a calendar strangle could be a cheap way to play this?

Hear me out.

Buy feb25 235p, sell feb18 235p - $1.90
Buy feb25 280c, sell feb18 280c - $1.90

You end up with a way to capture a big move and for less than $4, if they hold it where it is, you're not on a huge hook.

at this moment inflation is driven off of continued short supply of raw materials. The so called cost-push inflation versus demand-pull. Raising rates would have a compounding effect, no?
Sully Dog

Absolutely there is a demand side element to this. 12% of US homeowners spent two years not paying their mortgages. Student loans still don't have to be repayed. We handed out billions in "child credits" We lowered interest rates to effectively zero. Where do you think the money went?
