The companies are only doing well in this environment because our government has made consumers adverse to both government and corporation interests. DC is going to become wealthier than it already is and much of the wealth grab here will flow from middle class to the political class. I'll give you an example: the average salary at the Department of Transportation is $168,000. That's the average.

Inflation will hurt us, but expect Brandon to tout how great our economy is. Sure it's great if you're in government or in bed with it but it's really a massive money grab.

Maybe I'm just pissed and cynical because we lost out on a new house because our interest rate went up already.

The news was positive but some people bought it in the high 30s a few weeks ago, so expect profit taking, then Bullard taking a huge dump on the market didn't help. Without the news this morning, SAVA would be a lot lower instead of green.

Wouldn't higher inflation also mean people are more willing to invest in the market just to keep pace with inflation?

I tried putting a lotto buy order for 55p and missed the opening back up price by $.10. Those shot from $.5 to $3.50 in a moments notice and I see its halted again. wow!

P/E ratios are used to discount the next 12/24/48/120 months of cash flow.
Higher inflation equals lower forecasted profits.
Higher inflation equals slower growth

Doesn't matter how many people are invested when profit targets are changing in real time.

Low debt companies with liquidity and solid profits will fare much better than debt laden high growth, marginally profitable companies.
