Balance sheet reduction or QT is the last step. In his last presser, Powell plainly stated that first was QE off, then rate increases which will be an ongoing thing as needed, and second half of the year QT.

As a general rule of thumb, never buy (or sell) a stock after massive earnings move like FB. There is something known as earnings drift - this is a proven phenomenon measured over hundreds of thousands of earnings.
The general idea is the stock will drift in that direction for the next 6-8 weeks.

You're welcome. The exact term is PEAD - Post Earnings Announcement Drift if you want to read up about it.

There's been a number of papers written about it over the years and it has passed many robustness checks. It's more a market anomaly than an edge, often bringing into question the concept of efficient market dynamics.

That is the good idea. My first note might have not been clear
Surprise earnings beat = gap up and drift upwards.
Surprise miss = gap down and drift downwards.

Maybe. But bottom is lower.

Earnings 2/23 and have missed the last 2 and both resulted in decent sell offs.

Tight stop IMO on RR if you enter.

Thanks for your insight. I thought there was decent volume on last retest of recent low but perhaps you're right. I tried going long at 175 but got stopped out within hours :-(. Was glad to have a stop loss that day.

I do like this company though….who doesn't love LED tech in their TV's? Maybe best to just let them enjoy their success and not go long.

Daniel is absolutely correct. FB will more than likely go lower, just as AMD will probably go higher. Too many people try to outthink the market and buy calls on FB and puts on AMD. Those are both losing trades most of the time. I'm not speaking for Daniel and he can opine if he thinks I'm wrong.

Will FB be higher in a year, probably. However don't try to guess with options. JMO
