I think puts are the ER play on these companies that don't make money. DOCU, ASAN, and COUP have all sold off after ER in the last few days.

I'm planning to play puts on CHWY this week.
CHWY is valued at 3,000 P/E and is expected to report negative earnings Thursday.

Would a straddle be a good play for this one?
I'd either go put spreads, but with any earnings, play it lotto size.

Yeah I'm not finding much right now that is appealing. Maybe the 12/17 55/50 for 1.15ish?

earnings is the 14th I think? I'd wait til Monday to buy anything on it. and the weekly verticals (next week) will be cheap.

Looking over my trades this year, I need to tighten up on options trades, specifically setting stops.

Is there a good rule for percentage on a trailing stop or stop loss? I need to do a better job protecting myself on these.

I'm getting bailed out by this rip big time this morning.

I held a 12/8 SPY $466C from yesterday. Was waiting to unload this morning on any small upward movement.

I also picked up 12/10 AAPL $180C @.07. Left a few runners after going net free. It was just a gamble really but I felt there was time this week to see fruit wake up.

I'm averaged at $5 and only have a month until capital gains taxes change from large to small on my shares… if it keeps tanking I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and not wait til next month to bail
