I don't know how long you've been in the market, but expect both stocks to get a little worse during December. Watching your monitor praying for a reversal is not going to happen due to tax loss selling and inability to buyback because of wash rules. We are in no man's land and could go go either way. The bulls defense of SPY 450 all day was impressive, especially the end. If I had to guess, I think we will still get a Santa rally in SPY because of the mega caps because of window dressing by fund managers to close out the qtr/yr. I'm concerned about earnings season in Jan-March. It looks like a sell the news event for most companies, even if they crush earnings. If those were the only 2 stocks I was in, and had gains I could offset for tax purposes, then yes, I'd sell. If you don't have any capital gains to offset, then I'd sell enough to at least cancel out 3K of my ordinary income. IMO, you'll probably be able to buyback either one after 31 days near the same price you sell them at. I can't tell you what to do and ELOX never interested me, but I'm looking to buy some WWR the last week of December because it makes sense to me and the risk/reward curve is worth it.JbKing45 said:. Tough call, to each his own. I'm in same boat with those two. I had trimmed ELOX quite a bit above $1. But actually added more WWR today at $2.55, now avgd at $4.
If this sell-off is partly due to all the ag whales here tax harvesting, then we can expect a healthy spike in Q1....especially if we get a positive PR on their pilot and future plant construction. Imagine there would some amount of fomo and chasing for those WWR believers on sideline.
Oh yeah, OA is holding/adding.

Me too, my man. I should have taken 4500C at about 1pm, but I am not really able to watch the market actively anymore.
Something interesting is the Dow is flat while R2K and NDX are getting smashed. Russell can go down more, but it should at least dead cat bounce.

When I advised clients about tax loss harvesting it was like performing a root canal in the 1800's, even with seasoned investors. Nobody ever wants to eat a loss, even if it's for their own good, because it's like admitting that you made a mistake. ****, I had some clients that divided up their assets via divorce easier than selling at a loss and waiting 31 days. Then if they didn't book the loss in December for taxes and stayed in it, when it was at the same price mid January, it was my ****ing fault for them missing out on the tax write-off. I'm very grateful for the experience, but that is a life that I would NEVER go back to. I only manage family accounts and 2 hard working single moms whose exes liked to tell them they'd be broke without those *******s. I refuse any compensation, but I get satisfaction that they're in a position to tell their exes to ****off. People that use money to control others because they're vulnerable piss me off.
IMO, the hardest but most powerful lesson for everyone to learn is to take the loss if a stock violates the reason you bought it. The market doesn't care about your emotions, but it will use your pride to destroy your account.

Sure miss y'all, the o'dark thirty morning snapshot posts, sharing some trade setups, Lotto Friday's and the banter. I've tried to find a way to trade intraday with y'all but no luck. Heck I cant even access TradingView during the day. I'm relegated to app trading by pretty much walking outside a few hundred yards, buy/write high IV, then buy back the calls given the current market and resell a few more weeks out. Playing smaller than normal but at least I'm in the sandbox with y'all....although silently.
Love seeing all the new posters and entrants to the forum. Hope those that came in the past 3-4 weeks learn quick and stay the course. Like the seasoned guys on here find your lane, strategy and stick to your disciplines and you'll be fine. Break the rules and it can be painful.
Anyway sure miss y'all.....
PS- I'm still holding my WWR, ELOX, etc the board is posting so much about. IMO decide if you're gonna take the tax loss and move on....next trade. If not use the tools and strategies available to you if you're not already net free.

Thanks Prog. PE partner meetings were yesterday and well ahead of schedule so far. Be a while yet but growing the goatee long in defiance of a locked down IT and ready to get Gus back in rally mode.

By my estimation, QQQ needs to fall at least 13 more points. as it clearly has broken the neckline of its recent H&S formation.
