I don't use real stops on spreads, often they're too loose and wide and they get triggered with price action that's not indicative of the actual situation.

I'll continue to let this ride for awhile. I didn't buy JAN options to run an overnight trade.

I think next week. Of course it's a guess at this point. Max pain is over 1100 for this week, so it might get propped up, but it's still at $860 for 11/19. I think we see TSLA pain before 11/19.

My bs 467/468/469 SPY flies expire today. So obviously the MMs are buying millions of shares to help me make a few Benjamins. Hand-written letters still mean something to some people.

I seriously debated selling some yesterday since it's now my single largest holding, but didn't.
Since you're playing it long as well, do you sell on these spikes? Seems like it'd be hard to time.

Remember you don't have to time it perfectly. No one can. You just need to get the meat of the trade. If you miss a piece of bread on the top or the bottom that's ok.

RIVN... how do limit orders work on IPO? it appears fidelity will let you set an order prior - i assume that actually works just as a normal limit order?

Sw**** stocks is the only website I know of that has some portion of their max pain calculator available free. https://sw****stocks.com/dashboard/options-max-pain/TSLA

If I were a competent programmer I'd make my own and track max pain vs historical actual close for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th weeks binned as medium, large, and super large cap stocks as well as binned by sector.

They have 1120 instead of 1160 for this week on TSLA.

As a thought exercise, GME -

It shows max pain as 185 for 11/19. So the play would be to buy say a 185P?

Thanks for the other website! Bookmarked. If you wanted to play GME on that basis, maybe a put spread 177.5/185 would be even better. Or maybe a put butterfly at 175/180/185. Keep in mind that max pain isn't magical so there's still risk. Also remember that max pain works more often for the stocks and expiry dates with the largest options volume.
