Appreciate the explanation. I'm not to the point where I am playing anything alerted here in real-time. The after hours examples are helpful in that I have time to consider the variables and see how everything looks.

Good for a short term play but I wouldn't trust anything long term with them.

EMAs all wadded up here. Ideally a trendline break and $53.44 confirmation for me. Would be a weekly back to 56.30 or 58.60.
If it confirms the 58.60 it could have some legs with volume IMO.

Consolidating in relatively tight range. Has been just back testing/walking down the descending trend line and yesterday bounced the rising trend line.

I mentioned that I'd sold most of my SAVA earlier in the week. If we get more downward price movement I the premarket I'll put in some OTM call orders at the open, hoping to get some cheap lottos. I'll have to look tonight and see if any look really interesting.
One thing that I've learned through the years is that the market or stock action is unpredictable, that's why I very seldom rec options. All I'll say is this, expect severe premium peel of all options once the update comes out. I played selling puts twice on SAVA the last two weeks, but made sure to be closed out before tomorrow's presentation. Even though I was decently out of the money on my strike, I could easily see a big sell the news event.

Anyone looking at FDX? Seems like over reaction from UPS earnings. Checking a few options here but a 9/3 debit spread for 300/310 looks pretty good. Hovering between -2 to -3 ATR.

HZO - I don't like that the 8 ema is below the 22 ema but it closed above both of those today and everything else looks good.
TREX - I like this one. Just add volume and maybe clear $104 level.
WSM - watching this one. It looks a little early but the ema's are stacked and it is trading in a fairly tight pattern.
In general they all followed the macro market sideways and down that first week.
HZO: On the 19th it went -2 ATR and bounced off the 200dma and recovered the moving averages over the next few days. Had a nice earnings and pulled back to the 8 ema this week. Looks like it is setting up well. It will have resistance at 56 from the recent high. Still looks like a good setup to me.
TREX: Went down with the macro market, rallied, but then lost the 8/22 emas again. Doesn't look like a good setup going into earnings next week.
WSM: This one is chopping around near the recent lows and looks like a possible play to the downside to fill the gap that FJ pointed out. If it loses 150 it could fill the gap down to 140 where the 200d ma is waiting for support.
Not ready to quit the day job quite yet. Will try again.

More or less flat but nice to see VIX below 18 early here.
- Futures did trade down to yesterday's lows through the night so let's see what range we have today.
- I guess I am sort of expecting more volatility as it doesn't feel like the bulls or the bears have control yet.
- Seeing some of the China stocks with opening premarket prints green here. Day 2 runs possible.
- AMZN earnings today. What would a split do for share holders?
ROKU to 500, TSLA to 700, SAVA life changing results and an AMZN 10 for 1 split.....not asking for much.

Something I've been working on that hopefully helps some of you guys especially those of you who are really busy with other stuff in life and use trading as a hobby and side hustle...
Trading less and not trading at all when I'm really busy or my mind isn't right with distractions... or if I don't have a good feel for how the markets are moving. But when I do see a great setup AND it is a good company fundamentally AND the options premiums values seem off in a good way, I'm taking that trade with SIZE and discipline. They're not gonna all work out, but the winners will probably out win the losers.
Some other things I've drifted towards... expiration dates further out and ATM or not too much OTM... Carter style... he's got some great thoughts on this in his book.
So yesterday I went into AMD 9/17 with size, 50/50 on number of contracts at 100 (@ $3.50) & 105 (@ $2.15). Those premiums being that low just seemed out of whack given how it can move. See last July/August for example. Setup look familiar? Needs a close 100+ ideally tomorrow on the weekly & monthly chart. It is my one and only open trade, and I have 7+ weeks to let it work out so I won't be quick to sell out and move on.

My kids have NEVER had to wear masks anywhere (ages 5 & 7) so I'm curious how they'll fare on a 10+ hr flight Saturday...especially my 5 yr old who is having a lot of anxiety about it... The UK rule has always been age 11+, and for the life of me, I've never understood the US rule being age 2+. The Brits are a nutty bunch, but always seem to put children first... anybody flown with young children and have any advice? Do the flight crews typically fully enforce on young kids?

I was able to skirt the rule for my 2 year old but the flight attendants were pretty strict about the 5 year old wearing it. Not rude at all, just asked her to put it on a couple times
And of course my wife is going to Disneyland next week, so she's bummed about the masks coming back
