NOT speaking about AAPL directly, but in more general terms since I often see questions/comments like this.
Stocks traded ahead of earnings sometimes turn into cases of "buy the rumor, sell the fact". Remember that a stock's price is the present value of some future expectations. So, when the results come in, people take profits.
You also have the questions of where we go from here, are the results repeatable, what does the future hold?
This is particularly pronounced in very large/mega-cap stocks. But, the market will continue to evaluate as it does, especially once the algos lose steam.
In Apple's case, the 52 week high is $150 so it's not too far off at these levels after a great 1-year run, so a breather isn't unusual, especially in light of what I said above.
I am not happy about it but...Spoony Love said:

Hopefully we get to put it back there soon but in the same conference now.
Amazing earnings. Hopefully, GOOGL keeps going up!Brian Earl Spilner said:

I understand all of that. But they destroyed earnings. Not just met or barely beat.

Can you imagine the red azz the left behinds in their conference will have for them this coming season. Horns down will be a normal occurrence.
will be glorious to watch....and hopefully the SEC teams gives them the same "welcome"PWestAg18 said:Big 12 refs might be rooting against the sips for the first time everFJ43 said:

Agree. I want the starters in all 4 quarters, run up the score as much as possible.Ccutamu said:
I just hope Jimbo goes out with the mentality to curb stomp them and doesn't do the gentlemanly thing and call off the dogs like he is known to do. We need to beat the "little brother" narrative straight out of them from day one.

Whatcha think?
Redler would say can't get too bearish when its above the 8 & 21 EMA. Much less the 5.
SPY

Crush them into a pulp on the field. Shut out. Make them cry.
I think if/when we lose today's low we will more than likely revisit the 50 EMA again. If that is near term, then the span time on visits will have moved much closer together.SF2004 said:I am a rookie.FJ43 said:

But until the fed actually starts address inflation and reducing money supply I will be bullish after any days with sell offs like today.
In my opinion we will continue melting up with day(s) of selling in between.
The fed controls when the "heavy" correction will come (which I think will be upwards of 15%). Until then.... YOLO.
I will continue to sells puts/calls at -3/+3 respectively.
It wouldn't surprise me at all to close the week at or near new ATH. Fed meetings the next 2 days may change that of course. Tomorrow I would think will be sporty.Ragoo said:
Dear Mr. Market. You flushed retail today. Now reward those of us who held during the sell off. GREEN THE REST OF THE WEEK.
I am still not sure I fully understand who can pay whom, when, via what means and how much or what all the details of this are.Aggiesincebirth said:FJ43 said:I am not happy about it but...Spoony Love said:

At what point do we make a fund for recruits? I tried pushing this on premium. We need to get a texags fund going with a visible dollar value that stays at the top of the bone page for recruits to see how much money we are raising to pay current players for "NIL."
