I think for the near-term, there is very little realistic chance of the S&P trading below 4180 without a major reversal and/or black swan type of event. The S&P has not traded below -2 ATR at any point in the last year.

We are caught between two major weekly trendlines dating back several years, each of which has strong support and resistance. I think it is possible we are range bound for a while. We entered this megaphone in March and we have established into it, with two backtests that could not successfully break down. The most we have sold off in a multi-day dip is about 300 points on average, so the worst worst case is probably a 4000 test.

Might be a long time before we see a 3XXX trade without a catalyst.

I think the current move is low volume melt-up and there will need to be some consolidation, but we probably consolidate flat to slightly down based on the price action. I wouldn't believe any move is serious to the downside without a daily close below 4248. I don't think there is a ton of upside either without a catalyst.

Fed still printing like mad, Biden policies are market friendly.

Could there be a rug pull - of course, but I think the "fed iron condor" is now in effect (fed put + fed call).

TL;DR I was probably wrong about early summer weakness.

If payroll is a lot lower than what the street thinks then tech could have a day. I'll be looking for those that showed any weakness yesterday for rebounds today.

IIRC Mancini has been calling for 4370 before a pull back. Volume seems to suggest we're losing steam although it's worth noting that heading into a holiday weekend volume is always low. Still inclined to follow Mancini's lead til it's proven wrong.
