I think I just got invited to the Atlas of futures trading discord. I feel like I'm with Alice down here in the rabbit hole.
RH just sent me a note saying that I am at risk of early assignment due to dividend on this Friday 5/7.tsuag10 said:
Picked up a 5/21 AAPL $128/138 call spread this afternoon in my little Robinhood account.
OTM calls will at times be exercised when dividends are involved if the transaction makes sense for the holder. Your best friend would be early assignment because you'll immediately cash in as many 128's as you need and keep the $10 difference.tsuag10 said:RH just sent me a note saying that I am at risk of early assignment due to dividend on this Friday 5/7.tsuag10 said:

Can someone explain to me why I would be assigned early as long as the share price stays below $138?

$BGFV (Big Five Sports) reported earnings today, crushed, lit a rocket and apparently brought all the other sporting goods stores along for the ride.AG 2000' said:
What do folks make of the ASO run today? I can't find any news.
Was going to post the same. I lucked into BGFV 5/21 $25 calls for .20 yesterday and have been able to unload some as high as $2.25 today.BullSprig07 said:$BGFV (Big Five Sports) reported earnings today, crushed, lit a rocket and apparently brought all the other sporting goods stores along for the ride.AG 2000' said:

IMO PTON is not going anywhere the next 2-3 months in this reopening phase and potential market pullback, maybe better to wait and buy it for 3/4 the price.Prognightmare said:
If you have some cash you can park awhile, consider the 100c on PTON for Jan '22 @ $11. You may get them at 10 tomorrow at the open if it opens lower, like I believe it will. They're pricey but worth the risk IMO.
I think PTON touches 60 before 100. They need Cathie to keep averaging down her buys at 150 and for everyone to forgot to cancel their $40/month subscriptions when those bikes and treadmills turn into clothes hangers when the world opens back up. Puts have been good to me on PTON.Prognightmare said:

That gives you the run up of Q4 Christmas and the annual "I'm gonna get into shape" buyers.
I don't normally rec options but these could be a huge Christmas bonus for you.
How you feel after that close?FJ43 said:
I'll feel better above 416.30ish
You may be right, but PTON has a lot of institutional interest and they'll be buying it, especially when they rotate back. I'd rather be in it before than miss the ride.TubTub said:IMO PTON is not going anywhere the next 2-3 months in this reopening phase and potential market pullback, maybe better to wait and buy it for 3/4 the price.Prognightmare said:

Not a huge fan. SPX closed under the 10 DAY SMA for 2nd day in a row so not usually a good sign for bullish move the following day.jwhitlock3 said:How you feel after that close?FJ43 said:

Just to add to this - the TRIN and PCALL both closed right at the line for dropping into 'bearish' on the short term. Tomorrow feels like it could be a tough one. Hoping I'm wrong.FJ43 said:Not a huge fan. probably -5%. Setups were right, just didn't work.McInnis 03 said:
I'm going to assume for you, that means you'll finish down 2% and not literally "blown up"

went with an ETSY put spread before close... there was some bigger put buying on flow (for earnings).
stock is trading in no man's land between 100 day and 200 day ema, also is below a box it was trading in.
went dirt cheap - 170/165P - cost .95, max profit is 4.0 (but at expiration). I'll most likely close this tomorrow though.
