And with other new tax rules, apparently we would have to pay taxes if my parents gave me equity in our family business. This falls under Gift Tax I believe. How effed up is that?? Goodbye generational family businesses

Eyeing a 5/21 credit spread, something like sell the $50, buy $52s. Thoughts? .95 credit. Or could sell the $48 for a $2.6 credit.

I agree. Even with many big boys dropping after earnings, I think the overall beating of expectations will drive us up the next week or two. I wouldn't be willing to back that up very much with my wallet, but it looks most likely IMO.

Do any of you more well-educated market guys have any thoughts on the April 15 Tax deadline being pushed back to May 15 and June 15 for various states will have any impact on the typical May market declines seen in the past?

Didn't know if later filings would influence money flows?

If they gift it to you this year, there is still the $11 million exemption for gift tax, they would just have to file a gift return. But after this year who knows.

I can understand the increase in income taxes but increasing long term cap gains and eliminating the 1031 are major moves that could cause hugely negative impact on the housing market as well as real estate as a whole

I went with June 4th, 43/46 spreads. cost $76, max return 224 at expiration. I will probably be out of these long before then though.

I think well 2 should push it to around 15. I think the 2d seismic survey is what will really catapult this thing
