Just call them and they'll remove it. You might need to turn on your margin if you're trading with unsettled funds. Just don't use margin

You'd have the problem anywhere, not just Fidelity.

Every transaction in a cash account takes 2 business days to settle.

Available to withdraw is different because a transfer isn't going to settle same-day... it'll settle after everything else has settled.

And no, your restriction doesn't restrict you from all trading, it just means once your cash does settle, you'll have to restrict your trades to using cash that's settled.

Treasuries Trying To Break Right...Failing...Asian Covid Cases...US Cap Gains

It certainly feels like US Treasuries are going to break to lower yields, higher prices... The levels of .78 for 5 years, 1.52 for 10 years and 2.21 for long bonds continue to be approached, but have not broken yet... Economic numbers are still very strong, but wrenches continue to be thrown at the markets... The latest yesterday was the threat of a doubling of Capital Gains in the US, which would bring capital gains rates in two of the high tax states of NY to 52%, and Cali to 56%, respectively... Talk about discouraging investment... But GS put out a piece late yesterday that got equities to do better overnight, saying that their view is Capital gains will top out around 28% and the expected start date would be more like 1/22 rather than next month...Capital gains increases normally do not stall market moves, but the crypto markets are getting very concerned as that is where massive gains are hiding out... Bitcoin hit a low of 47000 this morning after recently hitting highs of 64000...massive gains reside in the cryto markets, as well as the Faang stocks

Fed meeting is the next big event unless Biden throws another curve ball at the equity markets... We expect the Fed to stay pat... For the doves, forget about increasing QE, Operation Twist, or Yield curve control... The Fed tea leaves show they are thinking just the opposite... For the Hawks, tapering is coming, but not just yet...Fed operations are currently too large for the markets, which is most evident in mortgages... Fed needs to cut back... But that won't happen yet either... We think the Fed has to see more chunky numbers, including 3-4% inflation, along with 1-2 million monthly increases in employment, to get concerned that they are behind the curve... In the last few days we have seen both Canada and Australia start to taper... European PMI this morning were above 63...tapering is coming, and so are higher rates... But we don't know if rates are going to break right first... Certainly higher rates and steeper curves are coming, but there is still enough of a short base to have one more big 'oomph' move to lower rates... Hope we are wrong here, because we are still a firm believer of 2% 10's.

Covid cases continue to spike in Asia, with India under siege and Japan starting lockdown and closures in major cities before Golden week... Today we expect to get approval for J+J to resume, but demand for vaccinations is waning and we have gotten below 3mm vaccinations a day... So low that some of the vaccinations sites are closing...still the economy of the US is opening up strongly and will continue... But cases among the young and the unvaccinated are popping up in many places...

Rising capital gains rates is usually not the end of stock rallies... But it looks like 2022 and beyond trading accounts will be better to be in IRA accounts rather than regular accounts... And we see this more as a ploy to go after wealth than income... Something that the left has been focusing on... Still think that next weeks Fed meeting will start a new trend, but the bigger move for rates will be as we approach the June meeting.

Had a Fidelity violation hit occur last Friday. Get email Notice Monday. I'm going, what the heck? Called them up. The Fidelity System told them it was a "Free Ride". I asked them to define. Customer Service and the Pro Trading Floor Manager could not define. They said this is most rare and that's why they didn't know definition. Both folks could not see the Free Ride violation in their system. They didn't know what happen. I was promised a follow-up call on Tuesday. Never heard from them. Today they hear from me, again. Violation still shows, no email stating it was removed. I love Fidelity system. I think Fidelity wires shorted out internally, meaning I think their system stacked orders outside chronological sequence "creating" a violation. I didn't violate squat.
